Amazing atmosphere and people!! We only went for drinks so we can’t speak for the food. But there was a food truck outside called Mimi’s Cafe – serving Vietnamese food! It was amazing !

Excellent beer & bourbon selection.
Beers on tap you can’t find anywhere in region.
The pizza was well enjoyed, as I ordered it during a Packers game on one of their many screens. Definitely recommend this spacious spot.

Overall, I’ve had not a great experience with this place. Let me say – I’m a big fan of the Root Beer they have on tap. Ordered two pizzas, the toppings were decent, and cooked, the cheese was good, the sauce was… just okay… but the crust was barely cooked and completely white on the bottom, same with the Dank Sticks. I had to cook it in my oven before I could eat it, which is about the worse experience you can have with take out food… I don’t enjoy paying for take out… that I then have to cook myself. Kind of defeats the purpose of ordering said take out. I know places get busy but if the crust is stark white on your pizza it is not done.

The place to go if your stomach is growling for beer and food.

7 hour shift. 1 hour work meeting. 6 hour drive. I was in dire need of beer/food and sleep once I arrived in Eau Claire to hang with my friend Tim for a few days. It was close to 9:30pm when I arrived and our choice of places was pretty limited. Luckily The Growler Guys was still open.

Upon entering a completely empty bar, the bartender greeted us and got us up-to-date on their beer offerings and a contest among local breweries they were having. Tim and I tried a few different samples before settling on a drink and some food. The contest intrigued me so I took a flight of the contestants. Tim grabbed a cider and we sat and caught up on life and nerdy things.

While I was sipping my samples and Tim was enjoying his cider, our food came out. I got their Pizza Hero sub and Tim got a Calzone. The sub was okay at best. It could’ve been cooked a bit longer as it came out lukewarm and was floppy. For it being a ‘toasted sub’, it was lacking the toasting for sure. It wasn’t the fullest of flavor either but I wasn’t in a time and place to be needy about food. Tim said he enjoyed his calzone but it wasn’t anything to rave over.

The samples I had ranged from great to not good. I don’t remember which ones I got but two of them were cream ales and one of those was a coconut one and that was just not my jam. The lager was decent as well as the other non-cream but overall, not typically beers I would order (aside from the lager). I cast my vote for the lager as I turned in my glasses.

Any who, we sat there for about an hour and had the whole place to ourselves. A few people popped in and left but none really stuck around. I really enjoyed the vibe of the place. The bartender was fantastic at entertaining us for the little bit we were at the bar. I am addicted to milkcap pull tabs and he helped fix the machine so I could buy a few and share them with Tim. There is also a giant pile of board games to play if you come here with a group of people.

Speaking of that… if I lived in the area, this is definitely a place I would push my friends to come to for hanging out. Plenty of space for drinking and board gaming with 40+ beers on tap. This was definitely a good stop for the night and a good start to a short trip to Eau Claire.

Cheers, readers!

Went for the Yuengling beer release event and arrived minutes after 5:00. Went to order and asked for the free glasses and were told already gone. We asked how if the event had postings that it started at 5:00 and were told “we’ll we started handing them out at 3:00 instead.” Don’t post event with start time and then start 2 hours earlier because you felt like it.

It’s hard to say anything bad about this place if you are a beer fan. Lots of beers on tap, friendly staff, you can sample as many as you like. I ordered a flight with beers ranging from $2-4 on it. Also had the cheese curd pizza which was interesting… Fun spot with bar games in back. The only downside of a place like this with so many taps is there are some that don’t get poured often and you can taste it.
