Heard a couple good comments about the Grove restaurant at the Woodbound Inn so we thought we’d give it a try. VERY VERY LONG wait for everything: 15 minutes for our first drink, over 30 minutes for our dinner, more than 15 minutes for the check, and it was not a busy Thursday evening. We ordered the Scallop Piccata $32 and the Chicken Marsala $22. For the price of the meals, the portions were very small, especially considering they do not include bread, soup or salad with the entrees. The food was okay, nothing out of this world, so I would not return to this restaurant based on the overall experience. The musician was amazing and the ambiance was fantastic but the food and service left a lot to be desired.

Definitely make reservations. We went for an early dinner so we could enjoy some quiet before the dinner rush. The staff was kind. It seemed as though our waitress was spread thin going between the bar and dining area though as it took some time to get our check after we had finished and our table had already been cleared. Other than needing more staff to help the core staff this place is amazing. The food was on point I had a garden salad with a classic ranch along with the 8oz. Filet with mashed potatoes and the veggies of the day was asparagus. I also tried a specialty drink called the wood bound kiss. It was very tasty. I could have had another. My husband had the French onion soup and Bolognese. He stated how fresh the pasta was. The bread that was provided was amazing along with the seasoned butters along side. Herbs or cinnamon were the choices this evening.big tips to the bus boy as he was very attentive and on top of clearing the table. The environment was beautiful and rustic modern. They had seating for small and large groups and were handicap accessible. We will for sure be returning and hopefully bringing others with us to enjoy in the future.

The WBI Cosmo is SO GOOD. Also enjoyed the steak tips with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Wow! Excellent. 4 stars for food because fish tacos, while delish, didn’t have anywhere near enough fish in them. Dessert (chocolate bomb) was also superb. Great time and terrific service. Thanks!

The Woodbound Inn is a hidden gem! The food for brunch was fantastic! They had pastries, and omelet bar, Eggs Benedict, chicken alfredo, shepherd’s pie, roasted veggies, jasmine rice, desserts and all were absolutely delicious! I will definitely go there for brunch or dinner again.
You can stay at the historic inn and they also have cute rustic cabins that you can rent that overlook lake Contoocook lake and fabulous views of Mt. Monadnock.
I highly recommend it.

We are new to Jaffrey and wanted a decent meal so figured this would be a nice place to order take-out from. Unfortunately the food was not worth the price we paid for it. Don’t get me wrong, the food was fine enough, but for $28 we got FOUR steak tips and some sad overcooked plain white rice. We also ordered the chicken tender dinner which was more reasonable at $16 and we really enjoyed them! For dessert, I got the world’s smallest piece of chocolate cake for $12!!!! After tax and tip over $60 for a meal that should’ve realistically been $40 max. I’m willing to pay for a good meal, but for mediocre pub food it’s just not worth the money at the end of the day.

It’s something different every time we go here. We used to love it but then they changed their menu every week. The waiters are not nice anymore. I made a reservation online 2 days before for family coming out of town, they called me the day of to tell me they are canceling my reservation and they would send me a $50 gift card. I’ve called 4 times asking for a manager and I can never speak to one he’s either busy or not in. I’ve talked to some young girl on the phone and gave her my email 5 times for the gift card and never received anything. I’ve given this restaurant so many chances given it is one of the few in town, but this was the icing on the cake!

So wonderful! I’ve enjoyed meals here on a few occasions, including for some charity events for local groups, and for date-night dinners.
Desserts are always delicious. Their quinoa burger is a bit spicy, but is super well balanced with sweet potato and a slightly salty cheese. Garlic fries may be the best fries I’ve ever tried (and I have an ongoing “best fries” list with my family).
Always plenty in a serving (I almost always take some home for later!), and always delicious. To top it off, their waiters and waitresses are absolutely splendid! Always friendly and looking out for their customers.

Stopped in here after my wife’s graduation, the food was good, but the service is what made the experience great, the staff was amazing, they were attentive, energetic and most of all, genuine and friendly, we don’t get this way really ever, as we live 1.5 hours away, but for anyone visiting Franklin Pierce, check it out….

New menu coming soon! Appreciate that restaurant is open on Monday nights, when most others are closed. Outdoor dining on screen porch or on open deck with live music most weekends. Great setting for functions, too . Delicious food. Inside has a dining room or casual pub seating with high top tables. Great beer on tap!
