Heard a couple good comments about the Grove restaurant at the Woodbound Inn so we thought we’d give it a try. VERY VERY LONG wait for everything: 15 minutes for our first drink, over 30 minutes for our dinner, more than 15 minutes for the check, and it was not a busy Thursday evening. We ordered the Scallop Piccata $32 and the Chicken Marsala $22. For the price of the meals, the portions were very small, especially considering they do not include bread, soup or salad with the entrees. The food was okay, nothing out of this world, so I would not return to this restaurant based on the overall experience. The musician was amazing and the ambiance was fantastic but the food and service left a lot to be desired.

We’ve been coming to the Inn as a family for over 50 years so have seen various iterations of the restaurant. The Grove is by far one of the best in terms of the food. Rudy is a very talented chef and extremely accommodating for those with allergies. This year I had Pan Seared Scallops with Gnocchi for my main course. While the Gnocchi and the cream sauce was very good, the scallops were amazing. They were perfectly flavored and melted in your mouth – some of the best scallops I have ever had.

Great restaurant, out of the way but very good. Small restaurant with 9 tables & places to sit at a live edge bar. Pub in another area of the Inn. Good food, good service. Live entertainment.

The Woodbound Inn is a hidden gem! The food for brunch was fantastic! They had pastries, and omelet bar, Eggs Benedict, chicken alfredo, shepherd’s pie, roasted veggies, jasmine rice, desserts and all were absolutely delicious! I will definitely go there for brunch or dinner again.

New menu coming soon! Appreciate that restaurant is open on Monday nights, when most others are closed. Outdoor dining on screen porch or on open deck with live music most weekends. Great setting for functions, too . Delicious food. Inside has a dining room or casual pub seating with high top tables. Great beer on tap!

So wonderful! I’ve enjoyed meals here on a few occasions, including for some charity events for local groups, and for date-night dinners.

First time out at least six visits that we have been disappointed here. Sat in the pub where we usually do. Worst cosmo my wife has ever had. Rudy’s Old Fashioned not up to par or previous visits. Lots of training talk and other banter among staff that we could not help overhearing. Swordfish was edible but dry. Probably old. Should have suspected when we got the last 2 of this “special” and it was only 5:30. Sure we will try again but very sad when you really look forward to going back to a place you love and they disappoint so significantly. Our waitress, Tracy, was a gem and we still tipped her well, but we hope our next visit is a lot better.

Excellent food, more on the fine dinning line, linen napkins and tabled cloths. Friendly service and has a beautiful bar also. Outdoor seating when weather is not an issue. They also have Sunday Brunch.

Dinner reservations for a party of 10 and there wasn’t enough seats set for all of us to sit at one table without a person on the end blocked by a large white column (which wasn’t mentioned by the restaurant when reservations were made). Menu was very limited, with basically a lot of sandwich/burger options. Lobster roll was one of the most expensive choices on the entree menu, understandably; but then it came out as just lobster pieces on a roll – no mayo or anything – and a handful of chips (maybe 14 chips?), all on a 6x4inch plate. My friends ordered salmon that was so dry they asked for sauce for it, after trying it. Young waiter was pleasant despite serving such a large table. The company was the best part.

The best restaurant in the Monadnock region! Great food, friendly staff, and the beautiful country location can’t be beat. Also, the effort the owners gave during 2020 COVID shutdown is to be commended. Most places just did takeout while Woodbound hosted outdoor events to help people feel normal while still keeping us safe.
