As you probably have guessed, it’s not easy to get 5 stars out of me.
Well, this place has earned the 5.
A fresh, natural sourdough crust is used to make a delicious pizza pie. A wide variety of toppings can satisfy your needs.
If pizza is not your thing, try one of the other hand made dishes. A selection of craft beers will wet your whistle and finish your meal with a homemade cookie.
Outside seating is available on nicer days.

Usally a normal here but not anymore ordered a Cezars salad and so one didn’t chop the lettuce literally ripped it up with their hands or somthing and made it basically in eatable pretty bummed especially since I go there a lot but this is pretty messed up after a long day of hard work

The pizza is not very good, for many reasons but one glaring issue is that all of their BASIC ingredients are low quality or substandard: very greasy cheese; bland crust; sour pizza sauce; etc. Prior to 2018 I only ate there when their really classy co-owner Toni was there because he’s willing to make some small changes, like make a pie thin crust for me. It was tough two years ago for me to leave this initial bad review, but the last time I went there was in 2018 and the straw that broke the camel’s back in 2018 was an employee who refused to make my order thin crust; I left without completing an order that day (they were nice about it & so was I). The problem that day was that Toni was not there and apparently no one at that time (2018) knew how to stretch a smaller crust over the next largest pan to make a thin crust. I started driving to Ashland for pizza, but then I came again on 11-3-21, thinking to myself “they survived the pandemic, maybe the quality of their pizza went up…” nope, I was wrong. I thought perhaps they started using cheddar cheese because that’s what it looked and tasted like atop my pizza on 11-3 (perhaps it was just over cooked?) I included a pic where one can clearly see the melted cheese is orange in color. I guess it’s back to driving to Ashland for Pizza.

We identified as first time to the restaurant. They were friendly and helpful. The beer on tap was good! Good selection of wine with tasting if you’re not sure. We got an 8” & 10” for 2 hungry people with leftovers for both of us. Good all the way around,but especially loved the flavor of the sauce. Absolutely not fine dining, but a good atmosphere!

Knew I liked their pizza already, and was feeling like something different.. so I ordered a Bavarian pretzel with ipa cheese sauce and a side of meatballs in marinara sauce.
It was great.. pretzel wasn’t made in house but was good nonetheless.. meatballs were excellent.
Love the laid back atmosphere – I can eat here in my blue collar work clothes and not feel under dressed, which I can’t say for a lot of places in Talent.

This is my absolute favorite local restaurant. The people that work here are absolutely top notch. Their food is always delicious. They offer several different desserts as well as beer on tap. Walking into The Grotto is like walking in your own front door at the end of a long day. They treat everyone like family here. Recently brought two very good friends in for their first time and they were amazed at how good the food, service, and atmosphere were. I highly recommend that of you’re in Talent Oregon you definitely stop in and grab yourself a pizza, a sandwich, some spaghetti and meatballs, a beer, a salad or what the soup of the day is. If you’re very lucky you might even get to have their cheese and broccoli soup which is absolutely amazing as is their minestrone soup.
When you do stop in tell them that Kathy and Larry recommended them. You’ll most certainly get treated like royalty here.

I gave this Pizzeria a 5 star because the Mediterranean Pizza I ate today was THE BEST pizza I have ever eaten. The crust was thick but not doughy, the sauce was flavorful and not excessive. The toppings covered the whole pizza and the cheese was cooked by not overly done. I love it. Thank you Nicolas and Anthony. I am so glad you are still here after these last couple of challenging years. I was able to eat the whole 8″ pizza without feeling sorry.

Family,friends, beer, and … Soup! Omg the best soup, hand made weekly. Wonderful pizzas, amazing salads, the best pasta. Local good place to enjoy a good meal. ❤️Definitely try the Shrimp Chowder
