We are a small bistro providing coffee & lunch with a light appetizer and dinner menu for the local Lake of the Pines and Bear River community, Our family has been a part of the community for nearly half a century and couldn’t imagine being in business anywhere else. We are excited to provide a friendly place people can feel comfortable and additional local food options they can enjoy.

Best burger in Grass Valley / Auburn by far! They make it all fresh, tons of specialty flavors, and you will go home full! Tried it out and my wife and I loved it and were surprised how much variety they had and how flavorful the burgers were. The place was full of art, sports, and nostalgia. The owners are super friendly and create a great atmosphere. Our new favorite.

Absolutely 5 stars across the board! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The BBQ Bacon Burger at The Grind was incredible—grilled to perfection, loaded with flavor, and topped with sweet pineapple and grilled onions. Every bite was amazing! The fries were golden, crispy, and the perfect side.
On top of the delicious food, the customer service was friendly and genuinely welcoming. Loved the laid-back, cozy atmosphere too. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, The Grind is a must-try spot. I’ll definitely be back!

This is a new-ish place on Combie Rd near Lake of the Pines. My kids go to Bear River High so we drove past all the time. I thought they weee a coffee shop, but turns out they have food too! I’m doing a “Best of” series on burgers on my socials and YouRune and the owner reached out to tell
Me I should give their burgers a try – that I would t be disappointed. And, oh boy, I was definitely NOT disappointed. The burger was delicious and this burger is winning in the category of restaurants where you order at the counter and it’s a casual atmosphere (the other category is sit down, get waited on). If you’re craving a burger in south county – this place is THE place to go!

My husband and his buddy went today for lunch and reported that the burger was definitely in the top three they have ever had. Huge portions and extremely tasty! They also said the sweet people that own it and their son checked in on them multiple times. Great job!!

I stopped in for a to-go order around 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday since my husband wasn’t feeling well. I accidentally entered through the back door, but the gentleman who greeted me was so kind and explained the proper entrances.
After placing my order, I was thoughtfully offered a glass of ice water while I waited—a simple but much-appreciated gesture.
I ordered the Neapolitan flatbread pizza, cheese quesadilla, and fries, and everything was absolutely delicious. Great flavor and fresh ingredients! I highly recommend this spot.

Hi, My intention with this review to leave constructive criticism and an opportunity to grow, but my experience was terrible I see this is a family business and I walked in and I could appreciate it’s run very poorly when it comes to the customer service part. I got given a Matcha that was lumpy and not properly mixed. It was a dark weird green, and it tasted awful. The texture was horrible and lumpy. Now I’m not bringing this up because I want to see this business fail I want to see the person to succeed, but right as you walk in on the register, it tells you that orders are fired up and they take a long time so you better be patient and honestly this kind of sticker tells me all these people are unaware of how customer service works. Even a Michelin start fires up stuff for you on the moment Because food is supposed to be fresh. No, the girl at the cash register Was not rude at all, but she also didn’t have really good customer service. The way that your customer service people and the people who are making drinks/food behave is very important. You either make or break an experience there. The owner is very cocky and thinks the world of himself. So I hope that this public constructive criticism helps you guys grow instead of going out of business because at this rate Instead of conquering local business, Your banking, a bad impression with your neighbors And the locals. By allowing somebody to serve me a very lumpy matcha And not training your staff on proper customer service I’m not opening in the morning to serve drinks and calling yourself the grind It’s kind of ridiculous
