The Grilled Cheese Shack is a seasonal restaurant located in a little kiosk close to downtown. They have a decent selection of grilled cheese sandwiches and melts to choose from, or you can build your own. I ordered the avocado melt. It was ready in a few minutes, and I was able to enjoy it under the umbrella of one of the tables. The sandwich tasted great despite being a bit light on the toppings, but I was satisfied with it and the chips that came with it. It’s a cute little place serving up quick meals in an al fresco setting, and it does a decent job of it.

In Saugatuck for the day and enjoying the town along the Kalamazoo River. Great town with so many eating options and we have tried several. It was a very busy day and most places to eat were at capacity, so we tried another option that made us smile. Tucked in a little place off the water was The Grilled Cheese Shack, nothing fancy but we love grilled cheese. A great grilled cheese sandwich, a nice outside seating area where you can relax and enjoy the simple things in life. If you are in Saugatuck and want a simple pleasure, try a grilled cheese at the Grilled Cheese Shack.

This is a cool spot, and it was really nice to not have to wait. We went in October and I think maybe it’s best in the summer when Sagatuck is the busiest. Sandwich was okay, but they were out of several ingredients. The price was also quite high for a simple grilled cheese. BUT the location is nice and it was quick and convenient.

Last time We were in town, this place was closed. Next time We visited, it was open and We wanted to see how good this little Cheese Shack was. The Grilled Cheese was Awesome! Recommend trying Em out. They have all kinds of combinations. So Yummy.

Cute place for something quick. Variety of grilled cheese or you can create your own. There are some picnic tables to eat at. Reasonable prices and gluten free options. Highly recommend. Glad I was able to get there before they closed for the season.

Sandwiches are alright but tater tots and soup were awful and they charged for water cups. Maybe the frier oil was rancid? One overworked teenager behind the counter so I wasn’t about to ask for a partial refund. Overall this was a bad experience and wouldn’t recommend.

A fun, casual restaurant for a quick bite. However, I have noticed that depending on who’s cooking, the grilled cheese is either fantastic or average. Eating it right away (rather than carrying it to another spot or driving it home) definitely helps keep the bread from going soggy.

I ordered the Cheddar Turkey and a pickle and it was great. Nice little area for a good and hearty grilled cheese. Boys were nice who were working and attentive. Good spot.
