I ordered the lamb shank. The shank came cold in the middle. My family ordered a new york steak and the salmon. The server came by soon after. My wife told her the salmon was meh. I told her the shank was cold in the middle. The server took my plate back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later the server brought back the SAME lamb shank I sent back for being cold. Saying the kitchen fixed it up. I was stunned. I have only rarely sent food back to the kitchen and never had the same food come back simply reheated. After bringing the shank back the server returned once to our table asked about dessert. We declined. She did not come back to the table. No management came to the table to make it right. The bus person brought the bill, collected payment and brought the receipt.
Even a chain restaurant sends a manager by if food is returned. Ultimately I did not leave a tip. I am a firm believer that a restaurant operation is a team effort and in this case the entire team failed.
I don’t recommend The Grill at Quail Corners
As the evening went on and the restaurant began to clear out, our waitress seemed to disappear—possibly on break—leaving us waiting about 15 minutes before we asked another server for bread. That server was very helpful and also let our waitress know we wanted to order appetizers. Our waitress returned shortly after to take the order, and about ten minutes later came back for our entrées.
Once the food arrived, everything was excellent—each dish was delicious and well-prepared. We declined dessert, but given that it was a birthday celebration, it would have been a nice touch if the waitress had brought something small to acknowledge the occasion.
Overall, the food was outstanding, but the service felt a bit inconsistent. With a little more attentiveness, it could have been a perfect evening.
Our waitress was more than accommodating when I asked which choices would be gluten free.
The one thing I wish was different about the layout is that it’s very difficult to get around in the restaurant it’s like a huge maze and there’s an area where you basically could easily walk through the kitchen but there’s tape on the floor that says no and asks you to walk around but when you walk around if there are people at the table there you can’t get through very easily.
Overall it was a great experience and amazing food they could probably use a little bit more space or maybe get smaller chairs I don’t know
Casual elegance is what I’d characterize The Grill at Quail Corners. There is a full bar as well as a great Happy Hour. The full menu is quite extensive and starts at Lunch at 11am thru Happy hour 4-6pm and dinner till closing.
We started with the happy hour available only at the bar or lounge high-top tables. I had the fried Calamari for just $6.00 and it was just about the best fried calamari dish I ever had! The scampi for $8.00 was very tasty and I could of just drank the sauce! Next were the steamed clams. The sauce was not as buttery as last time, but had more of an herbs flavor. I just love the house made bread served with unsalted butter. The happy hour wine was very good for the price, I had 4! Good thing I wasn’t driving.
The service was very professional and friendly, even through a mask! I’ll look forward to coming here again real soon!
We just got back from another visit. This time we went for the small plates of the NY steak served over duck fat fries topped with an Argentinian Chimichurri sauce. ($16) It looked like pesto, but didn’t taste anything like that. It was one of the most delicious things I’ve had here, order this! Also, we had the seared ahi, not wroth the $16 price, but tasty still. I think we got short changed on the ahi, everybody else got 8-9 pieces, we got just 6!
