Do not and I mean DO NOT order the smash burgers here— meat tasted like straight garbage! Soggy just like the bacon as if the meat was boiled and pulled out of the trash, definitely not a smash burgers. Go to Culver’s for a smash burger!

Excellent pizza! Crispy cracker-thin crust with good sauce. Was a little cheesy, but next time will order with light cheese like we did for our second pizza. There is a choice of 3 sauces: Garlic, Sweet and Mixed. We went with sweet and it was good. Sweet, but not too sweet. They load up the pizza. It’s very hearty and thick. Very similar in thickness to Beggar’s Pizza. Nice to add another choice for pizza locally. Very good and highly recommended. Enjoy!

We decided to try a different pizza place after hearing good things about this place. Everything we read was spot on, we had some of the best pizza we’ve had in a long time.
In true tavern style the crust had just the right amount of crunch. They have 2 sauce options, sweet & garlic. ( I ordered sweet, but next time we’ll try the 50/50 version) My wife is really picky about onions on a pizza, she liked the ones The Great American uses.
We will totally be ordering from here again.
One suggestion, we would like to order online, but all the online options charge more money than the menu prices. Since we normally order as carry out, we just ordered over the phone.

The pizza was outstanding! Even better than I remembered from the old location! Also had the smash burger that was phenomenal, very flavorful. The skirt steak tacos were awesome, so tender. Will definitely be back!!!

I was looking forward to trying their pizza, and it was very disappointing. They were out of the sweet sauce and only had garlic or mixed sauce. It was OK, but nothing crazy. I also ordered my pizzas well done, and they both came out looking under cooked.

This pizza is a must especially the sausage and red pepper. The Crust is a perfect expression a true tavern style pizza. My friend Jonah and I had it and riot fest and they explained it’s about the sauce which they offer different ones and of course high quality cheese. IT IS A MUST TRY!!

Wonderful bar in a strip mall. Great pizza coming out of The Great American. Cheesy and saucy on a thin cracker crust. The ability to pick your sauce flavor is a great option.

Tried the pizza at my town fest.(Romeofest). Owner is awesome. Pizza is amazing and the customer service is top notch. Will definitely be checking out the actual sit down. Happy they came out to Romeofest 2025. Love the mixed sauce and the red pepper flake mixed into the cheese. Can’t wait to see what else is on the menu.

Seen a post about the pizza on a Pizza Facebook group and gave it a try. So glad I did because it did not disappoint. Will definitely be back this is my new favorite pizza place in Shorewood/Plainfield area. Great crust, sauce and cheese. We opted for the mixed sauce, they let us sample the garlic, sweet and mixed.
