If you want the true pulse of downtown Phoenix on a Friday night, The Grand is the definitive destination. This isn’t just a bar; it’s a historic landmark of the Phoenix nightlife scene that feels like stepping into a cinematic, Victorian-style train station. With its intricate decor and immersive atmosphere, it’s easily one of the most unique spaces in the city.
The Power 98.3 Friday Experience
Friday nights here are legendary thanks to the Power 98.3 takeover. If you are a hip-hop head, this is your home. What makes it special is the multi-generational energy; you’ll see everyone from the 21+ crowd vibing to new hits to the 50+ legends enjoying the classics. The DJ keeps the dance floor moving from start to finish. It’s a rare spot that stays high-energy while maintaining a respectful, “grown and sexy” vibe for all cultures.
️ Soulful Dining with a Southern Twang
The restaurant side of The Grand is top-tier. The menu has a distinct Southern twang that is authentic and seasoned to perfection. Two standout examples you have to try are:
The Mac of the Moment: A creamy, gourmet take on classic mac and cheese that hits the spot every time.
The Southern-style Wings: Perfectly seasoned and crispy, they pair perfectly with the late-night energy.
Amenities & Service
The layout is incredibly versatile, featuring two floors to explore, outside dining for catching a breeze, and dedicated hookah tables for those who want to kick back while the bass is bumping. The service I received was impeccable; my server was a total professional—chivalrous, respectful, and fast despite the bar being packed. Even the security team was cool and kept the environment smooth and safe.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
Parking: The lot is small and fills up fast! Get there early to secure a spot and a seat inside.
Kitchen Hours: The full kitchen stays open until 2:00 AM on Fridays.
Bar Hours: The bar serves until 2:00 AM.
The Vibe: Friday is Hip-Hop night—dress to impress and come ready to dance!
There is no cover charge.!!!!!!!!! Whether you’re here for the history, the soulful Southern eats, or the best hip-hop in the city, The Grand never misses.

I always have the best time here. My friends and I have been here numerous of times and we are always treated great and have a lot of fun. The drinks are always interesting and fresh. The vibe is silly and relaxed. There is never a time to not dress up like a pirate and go out with friends, right?

Rob ( ft in pic) was very rude. I even said “hello”, I stood right in front of his register and he kept ignoring all people in my party.

Good music, great drinks and loved the crowd. The bottle service is reasonable as so worth getting the service. Celebrated my best friends birthday here and she was not disappointed. We have a great time everytime we hang out here. So worth the drive from Tucson.

We got there right before they opened so no wait on a Saturday night. Was a lot smaller than we expected compared to other reviews and pictures I’ve seen. The food was good, cheese bread was so fluffy and good and the charcuterie board was good as was. Definitely recommend the Lava Flow drink was so good. I must warn you in the Zombie drink, it was incredible strong, the sweet fruity look is deceiving. Overall wasn’t terrible but was surprised how small it was. Glad I experienced it but probably wouldn’t do it again.

New Years night, security allowed sloppy trunks to do disgusting vulgar things as well as break the rules in this place. DJ didn’t know how to play music only played about a minute of a song and then would change it with a terrible drop which was no good. I lost one of my drinks and my partner had to pay for someone else’s drink because people are sloppy. Women were getting high and doing drugs in the toilet therefore when it came time when I asked for one shot not three I was sick and I couldn’t get to the toilet at all because these women were taking up the bathrooms vomiting and doing drugs but I got kicked out 2 minutes to midnight. I’ve never been kicked out of anywhere that had alcohol and I’ve never been kicked out for throwing up. This was the worst experience I ever had at a bar good thing I went with one person that made livable. I choose to not return to this establishment due to the crappy atmosphere and the really bad securities.

I had been wanting to experience the Ghost Ship after reading about it online. Understand that the Grand and several areas within have different themes. It is a bar/nightclub first. We arrived at opening time, 5pm. We had the place to ourselves. We ordered a couple of specialty grogs and enjoyed the atmosphere. We were offered food bit had plans following this stop. We will come back for more. Argh!

AJ is the MAN. Extremely respectful, attentive, and helped when very much needed. He was the kindest and most sensible security guard along with all the other bartenders and security. They make you feel safe and will back you up when you need it. If there is ever a problem, they are on it like no other. Will come back purely just because me and my girlfriends felt safe.

It’s such a nice and hidden little business. It’s both a restaurant and a cafe shop. It’s quiet and ideal for getting some work done. There’s a few creative things in the menu like this Mac n cheese Cheeto burger. The prices are reasonable and definitely won’t leave a dent in your wallet. The restaurant itself is cute and looks appealing. Including the restrooms. They’re clean and follow the same asthetic. Go and experience it yourself! Great customer service.
