Wife and I stopped here for breakfast on a Monday morning right when they opened. The Governor has appeared in TV Shows, Popular articles/Sites, Videos, etc. Did it live up to the hype? Absolutely! This place didn’t slam you with a wall full of mentions, awards, Guy Fieri hype, etc. I appreciate that they didn’t plaster all of that on the walls, and appeared to just stick to what they do best and what has gotten them here.

Ordered the lobster roll. Now don’t get me wrong, it was pretty good but I also feel like I should not have had to add salt and pepper to it to make it taste the way it should have. For a $30 sandwich it should be perfection right out the gate. Also, the bread was more of the highlight for me than the actual lobster.

Delicious, super healthy and filling vegetarian poke bowl! Something tiny and crunchy, with just the slightest bit of sweetness was special and wonderful. Looking around there crowded room at all the other customer’s meals made us want to stay and order everything we saw… So many tasty looking creative dishes. My Great Lakes Christmas Ale came with sugar and cinnamon on the top edge…crazy, but it was really good. Levi was our waiter/bartender, he was great. The Governor is one place I’ve found to just be consistently great. I have tried their Fun Guy dish, their lobster roll, the smoked salmon salad sandwich, short rib grilled cheese with kimchee tomato soup, the cracked potatoes, hash browns, and beet poke bowl. Every single thing has been delightful. Atmosphere and staff are great, too! It’s clear to me that they don’t have one thing on the menu that they can’t execute perfectly. Love this place!
