I’d recommend adding a dollop of garlic butter to the mash.
They have a great trivia night on Sundays at 7:30, with good prizes!! Definitely worth a stop in for some trivia.
The Goose and the Fern is absolutely phenomenal! This traditional British pub delivers on every level. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve been transported straight to the UK.
The food is outstanding – every dish we tried was prepared to perfection with generous portions and authentic flavors. And the beer selection? Delicious! We visited for my husband’s Birthday and we were in great hands! Whether you’re in the mood for a proper pint or trying something new, they’ve got you covered.
What really sets this place apart is the amazing service. Clyde, the British owner, has created something truly special here. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. Combined with the cozy ambiance, it’s the perfect spot for everything from a casual dinner to celebrating special occasions.
If you’re looking for an authentic British pub experience in Santa Rosa, The Goose and the Fern is an absolute must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
Don’t let the fact that its a bar fool you, the food is delicious and I’ve brought my toddler here for early dinners multiple times.
This is one of my favorite places to get Fish and Chips. Fries appear to be handcut and the pieces of fish are large and the cod in the fish is plentiful and fresh tasting. They offer two types of sauce to pair with the fish a traditional tartar sauce and curry sauce. Both are good. The curry is light and on the sweeter side.
Ploughman’s Platter – If you are looking for a cold plate with a good helping of cheese this is the dish for you. The chunks of cheddar and blue cheese are plentiful. Salad is well dressed and the pickled vege is plentiful and cuts the cheese very well.
Guinness Braised Beef – This small pie is mighty in its delivery. The beef is plentiful and flavorful. Sauce is on the saltier side.
One of the best desserts you will have is the Sticky Toffee Pudding at Goose & Fern. It takes 15 minutes to prepare. Comes out warm and moist with a caramel sauce on top. Highly recommend.
I had their Posset which was the first time I had it. It was Lemon with a Blackcurrent jam on top. Refreshing and cool, great dessert for the summer.
