The tast was not horrible but they used the same stew/soup for all the dishes. Loaded with carrots and peas but not traditional.
On the good side. Ambiance was amazing. If I owned an Irish bar/retaurant, I’d copy it. Staff has amazing! Sweet and friendly and knew their business.
But I don’t go out just for the survice, I go for the food primarily. The food was VERY VERY dissapointing.
GET A NEW CHEF AND MAKE IT 5 stars!
Too easy.
Next street down was the Goat and Clover Tavern. The hostess came out while we were perusing the menu, greeting the children first with a big smile and asking how they were. She asked if we wanted to sit outside which we did and when the waitress came out with our waters, she brought along a clean water bowl freshly filled for my little dog.
Everything on the menu looked fresh and delicious, it took a few minutes to decide what we wanted. It was challenging to try and choose just one item so we ended up sharing a few.
The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, a huge hit with the kids! The biscuits and gravy was served with some kind of seasoned potatoes and eggs. If you’re local, you know all about Randy’s biscuits and gravy and this was the same category of deliciousness!
Our salads had just the right amount of greens, protein, and veggies. The portions were large enough to where we all had seconds later on that evening.
Inside looked like a fun place to be to watch a football game or meet friends for a drink after work.
Everything from the bar to the bathrooms, was spotlessly clean, well organized and the staff were friendly and polite. It has been a while since we experienced that kind of care and excellence in a restaurant. This staff genuinely appreciated their place of employment and cared about their customers.
Looking forward to the next time we head downtown for lunch, as we will head straight to The Goat and Clover tavern!
They have a large selection of draft beer which folks are sure to enjoy; we stuck to Guinness though.
We stuck to the basics when it came to food: the Tavern burger and the fish and chips.
It took the Server a little time yo get to us, about 15 minutes but when Angel did it was really quick, we put our order in, and had our drinks and food out really quick.
PS: I did ask for the Tomato to be removed from my burger but I didn’t mind it too much when I did get the burger with THE Tomato .
Regardless food was good.
I had the potato appetizers that were good. The dipping sauce was good.
I think if I had ordered something else, I would have had a better food experience. I would try the fish and chips if I ever go back. That looked delicious.
Nice server and fast service.
