Our first visit after so many friends have recommended us going for dinner, glad we did. Great atmosphere, delicious bread and butter (chives) while we waited for clam chowder, which was amazing.

Merry place full with Putney locals, some there to see artist talk at the Next Door Stage next door. Nice layout with just the right separation and closeness between diners and the social crowd at the bar. Still maintains airy feel, therefor safe/comfortable. All dishes were plated and presented and served with care, and on that basis it’s a five star. Generally the food is very good, here are some specifics. Outstanding bread! Served warm, great crust. Pork entree was flavorful but slightly dry. Salmon was pretty good but rice that accompanied it wasn’t special. Asparagus and broccoli were great, even perfect. Soup of parsnips and leeks was beautifully textured but the bit of orange from the tree inside the restaurant …? It could not be tasted and that might have made it a very unique experience. The soup’s salt content was too high for my taste. Many dishes feature garlic so keep in mind if that isn’t to your taste. Server was excellent. But, when things got busy we could not pay our check for awhile. We will definitely be coming back here.

We walked in for dinner on Saturday St. Patrick’s day since we live 3 minutes away at our Airbnb. Immediately the waitress said they’re short staffed and there’s only 1 chef and asks us to wait while she confirms if there’s room for us. She’s extremely stressed out so we wait and we’re eventually seated. We ordered appetizers: wings, flatbread, brussel sprouts which were really good. The mains looked beautifully presented but the pasta & pork were dry. The cherry soda was really good. It didn’t feel like the food took too long to come out and the ambiance was really nice inside. The food was just okay. We felt really bad for the waitresses since they were running around the whole night super stressed. Please hire more people for your restaurant.

Very tasty and flavorful food. Fresh ingredients and delicious sauces. We had the burger, BLT, and blueberry cheesecake (which I highly recommend). Very friendly wait staff and nice atmosphere sitting on the porch.

The ambience of the place is very rustic, and done really well. Very warm & welcoming staff. There’s a prix fixe dinner, which I believe changes daily. Salad, Entre, and dessert. The salad was amazing! That was a shocker! So fresh & tasty. The entree was between a lemon chicken or a pan seared trout. I went with the trout. It was cooked perfectly. Skin was crispy and fish was tender. Dessert was excellent. It was a slice of pie(can’t remember), a creme brulee, and a mint chocolate mousse. I had an IPA to drink, it was delicious.

Had a lovely late summer lunch in the spacious room inside. Very nicely renovated with exposed beams. Delicious meal, small portion sizes. Had the beets/ bortsh soup, tacos with roasted eggplants and cocoa crème brûlée.

Rye our server seemed strung out. Forgot our drinks, got our order wrong, had flakes of black nail polish fall into our plates! You need to hire better/more staff.

Had the most delicious lunch here last week while visiting beautiful Vermont. Charming decor with a very relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed the black bean soup. Just the right amount of spice and very hearty. I would definitely come back!
