First time at The Ginger Man and came here because was recommended to try if in Greenwich. It was worth trying as they pour a perfect pint of Guinness and to complement the pint was an order of Fish and Chips which was the best I had in a while, crispy crust and flaky fish with fresh cut fries including amazing tartar sauce. My partner is gluten free and a few options to choose from like one of the burgers without buns and ultimately chose Steak Frites with Truffle Parmesan, it was cooked well and paired well the fresh cut fries.
We will be back next time for sure

We recently celebrated our birthday at The Ginger Man – renting out the second floor Avenue Room. The entire process was so seamless and easy. Brendan, the GM was incredibly responsive and made the entire planning easy. Our bartender for the evening, Bryan, was so friendly and helpful; as well as the rest of the staff. All of our guests raved about the food, drinks, and the atmosphere. We highly recommend The Ginger Man to host your event!

Overall, not bad. My burger was okay, the slice of raw onion was cut way to thick, even though I’d ordered caramelized onions, Onions should be thinly sliced so it fit nicely and not overwhelming. $2 for a tiny piece of bacon I had to look for. Fried brussels sprouts were not bad but not the best, the crispy cauliflower was good, enjoyed that. Fish n chips was delish. roasted chicken was good but the mash and asparagus were a bit salty.

We loved the soft pretzel and pesto mac and cheese. It’s a nice place and the service was good. The food was good but a little expensive. It can be hard to find parking closer to the restaurant on busy days.

Update: Dined here again, and the food was delicious. We got burgers, cauliflower, mashed potatoes, pesto mac and cheese, and portobello steak. Everything tastee great! The only con was our pretzel came in pieces while for another tables, it was the regulat full size. We were perplexed as to why would that be. Updating my review from 4 to 5 stars.

While visiting family in Greenwich we stopped in and had a family lunch and a couple of beers. Four adults and two kids! All were satisfied with the quality and portion sizes. Great place with beautiful woodwork and nice bar!

The only true Pub on the Avenue. Cozy wooden interiors, warm lighting, and the food couldn’t be better. Pesto Mac&Cheese, Grilled Octopus, Salmon with Risotto…Wait Staff is professional, attentive, and knowledgeable of the food and drink. Speaking of drinks- Bar scene is fun, diverse, and a “community” within a community. Either “regulars” or visitors, always camaraderie and a fun time. Televisions for some sports viewing, great upbeat music, cool and clean atmosphere. On Friday nights you can be treated to drinks at the Bar with Kevin, also very knowledgeable and attentive. Or during the weekdays Pablo, or Sean for lunch/Happy Hour. Never a miss here!

Terrible Service from INCREDIBLY rude bartenders. My friends and I (all 21 year olds) went out for New Years Eve, and when waiting in line at the bar, the bartender comes up to us, looks at my shortest friend (who’s still only about 5’7”) and says VERBATIM “who’s that little guy, he’s not 21” he then looked at my friends REAL ID, claimed it was fake, and continued to kick us all out while also putting hands on my friend. Please do not spend your money here, it is overpriced bad food in the first place.

I came with a dinner reservation around 5:45. It was loud, the front was filled with drunk men. The host led us through the crowd into the back which was quieter but still lively. Our waiter was very cold. He didn’t introduce himself, never smiled, never checked on us, and barely spoke. The food tasted amazing although the potions (for salad at least) are stingy for what you’re paying.

4.4 The Ginger Man is located right in the center of downtown Greenwich in the midst of all the retail stores. It’s also close to the train station which has worked for us for over a decade to have an annual Christmas meal here with a family member who lives in Manhattan and rides up for our lunch. The atmosphere is a blend of casual and upscale/pub and restaurant. There is a long wooden bar with stools, some tables and booths around the bar with views of the busy street, and some private event rooms upstairs at the top of a long winding staircase. The best room is the main dining room that has a working fireplace in the colder months. During the Christmas season, a big festive wreath hangs over the mantle.

Arriving early, a table was available right next to the fire! It was a nice addition to see a few premium steak choices on the menu this time, but it was too early in the day.

An order of ribs was described as okay, with little or no dry rub for seasoning and a sweet sauce. A side of Mac and Cheese comes with this dish plus coleslaw. More a half rack in size. Not a true half or full rack, but The Ginger Man is not a barbecue house, so he was just happy to be able to have the choice of ribs for his lunch. A steak and cheese wrap with green pepper, onions, arugula and garlic aioli on a wheat pita was flavorful and tender. Fish and chips were crispy. The kind of fish was the standard cod. The hand cut fries were perfect. I always get the salmon which changes from time to time in how it’s prepared, but it’s always delicious and light served with a risotto.

This is a great spot to meet friends, coworkers or family, have a drink and something to eat while catching up on what’s new. Service moves along and there is an extensive drink selection from the bar.
