Best sushi in Hillsboro/Beaverton/Aloha area.

Sushi carousel with mini plates, sushi, appetizers, desserts at different price points.

Full sushi, sashimi, & nigiri menu also available, as well as Ramen, miso soup, salads, & pan-Asian dishes from the kitchen.

Everything is fresh & reasonably priced in a fun setting that allows you to try new rolls without committing $15 to a whole roll. They also let you place orders for half rolls so you’re not limited to what’s on the conveyor belt.

No kids, but if you have kids, this place is a friendly atmosphere that lets kids try sushi in a way that’s fun for them, too.

Beer & wine menu, as well as other assorted beverages.

Super nice staff! One of my favorite spots in town for a quick lunch or a date.

This place is over priced and has bad portion sizes. Usually each plate has at least 4 rolls and they are decently sized. This place has 3 pieces and they are tiny and it’s a $3 plate! And when you place an order you order a whole plate of sushi costing $12-$16 at that point it’s not even revolving sushi. The tempura sushi is not the normal tempura crunch, it’s super sharp and cuts up your mouth. I would understand price if the sushi was very good but that’s not the case. Do not recommend.

Compared to other local Sushi joints i enjoyed this Sushi Zen because the pieces were nice and hearty and acceptable for the cost. I will no longer be going to this place ever again after the crap they served me today. Just an absolute pittance. If they’re rationing the cheapest sea food option, fake crab, i wonder how much worse the other rolls look like. Just go to Sushi Hana instead.

#1 favorite sushi track of mine and I’ve tried every one in the Portland area.
Highly recommend the Baked Salmon roll and the Louis/Luis roll. Everything I’ve had tastes fresh.

The sushi itself was pretty good. Four stars due to my wife being brought a refill of the wrong soda (was brought diet not regular), the tiramisu having been frozen then thawed (the middle layer and crust were soggy and dripping liquid, one bite and I was done).

This place is great for a calm atmosphere even at Its busiest. People that work here treat each other like a family and tend to the customers needs whenever possible. The food isn’t the highest quality sushi but it doesn’t need to be, it’s delicious as it is and the vegetarian options are fantastic! They really try to cater to the needs each person has. Go experience it yourself. It’s a casual sushi experience that’s soothing and fun to look at, the kids will love all the fun pictures and figurines. Here’s a picture of what they did for my birthday even!

Absolutely loved my Friday night dinner here, and the lunch a week prior! The salmon has to be the most amazing cuts I’ve had at any sushi belts around Beaverton. The place is a little small so you may have to wait to be seated, but both times it was under fifteen minutes, and there are two waiting areas. Love the staff and all the options! ♡

Everything was fine…no complaints. They had plenty of my fave raw octopus up. I should have ordered surf clam!
Yes I did see signs for Ramen, takoyaki, mochi and chicken karrage. Did not personally order those things as I am not doing gluten right now.

Their sushi is okay. Comparable to other places I would say they are above average. Tipping culture in the USA became uncontrollable after the pandemic and this is one of the restaurants that adopted the extra high tipping.

Best place for raw fish in the area. However, the service is terrible. Possibly due to the new ownership.
My wife and I began frequenting this establishment back in 2010 when we moved into the area. The owner (I wish I could remember her name), greeted us like we were family and took care of us even when on one visit, my mother was rude to her.
The service was excellent as was the sushi itself. We were introduced to the Sushi Cake (pictured below, might no longer be available, ask for it), here and it became our favorite dish.
Sadly, with Sushi Zens new ownership, I have noticed a steady decline in the customer service area. The wait staff is uncommunicative, the greeter tends to be biased (or even racist) towards the customers. Regardless of how many times we dined here we were always treated poorly, if they even acknowledged us at all after seating us.
All in all regardless of how great the sushi is here, I will not be patronizing this establishment anymore.
Fare thee well Sushi Cake.
Sorry, it ends this way.
