Went to the tree lighting and happened upon this place. Great food. Good service. It was really busy. The drinks were fantastic and the food was yummy. We had a good time. If I found myself in Prosper again, I’ll go back.

Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and had fried okra… Was amazing. It came out hot. Awesome flavor. Dessert was sopapilla cheesecake with vanilla bean ice cream. I feel like I just ate Thanksgiving dinner and the server was very attentive.

It was our first visit to the Gin and we are so glad we went. Parker and Skyler were our servers and they were funny and seemed genuinely happy to serve us. We also watched the football game on the big screen while we ate. Istarted off with a Strawberry Sour and loved it. The food was amazing we had queso and chips with brisket for our appetizer and it was delicious. We had to try the chicken fried steak and it didn’t disappoint. We took desserts home to try and they were all exceptional. We had the chocolate cake with fudge icing, sopapilla cheesecake, and a homemade cinnamon roll. 10/10 reccomend this place!

I was so disappointed in The Gin yesterday. We pop in on occasion and yesterday was the first time they dropped the ball in multiple ways. First when we walked in the hostess was not friendly, no greeting, after a pause just asked where we would like to sit. As we were walking to our table we saw either the manager or kitchen staff apologizing to a table and offering to remake their food. We got our food and the mashed potatoes were cold with hot gravy on top. The mashed potatoes were obviously not fresh and that was for all the dishes that had mashed potatoes. The fries weren’t edible and as we were leaving we noticed the table behind us also didn’t eat their fries. I have attached a picture of their high chair that was falling apart. This restaurant is clearly doing the bare minimum and cutting corners. The only reason they are getting two stars is because our server Case was very prompt, attentive and friendly which served in stark contrast to the unfriendly hostess.

Great food and atmosphere, the broccoli cheddar soup was delicious and very generous portion for the soup & sandwich combo. Sandwich was a little small but was a good overall meal with the size of the soup. Would definitely come here again

The Gin Prosper is everything you want in a hometown hangout—with better drinks and no microwave dinners in sight.

The vibe? Cozy meets classy. Whether you’re posted up at the bar with a smoked Old Fashioned or catching live music on the back patio, it just feels like your new favorite place. The service is top-notch—welcoming, attentive, and never pushy.

Let’s talk food. The wood-fired pizza? Crispy, chewy, loaded with flavor. Their chicken-fried steak is a Texas-sized dream, and the wings? Best I’ve had in the state (and I don’t say that lightly).

I recently visited The Gin, and I was blown away by the incredible dining experience! I ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was an absolute revelation. The steak was tender, perfectly seasoned, and the crispy breading was just the right amount of crunch. Each bite was a delightful blend of flavors that simply melted in my mouth.

The dish was served with a generous helping of creamy mashed potatoes and rich gravy, making it the perfect comfort food. The ambiance of The Gin was inviting, with a relaxed yet refined atmosphere that made it a great place to unwind.

The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth dining experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for delicious food and a warm atmosphere, I highly recommend trying the chicken fried steak at The Gin. It has definitely earned a spot on my list of must favourite

We visited after a high school softball game, and it appeared they were having a downtown event, which seemed cool. It was easy to park and maneuver downtown.

We were quickly seated in the restaurant (although the bar was full). Our order took exceptionally long, but the management acknowledged before we said anything.

The food was really tasty, and I would not hesitate to come back again when we are in the area again!

This place is GOOOOOD! OMG, I went on a whim because I saw southern food. I am over the top. I had fish and fries. Everything has a unique twist. The fries… chili lime …. DELICIOUS. Roumalade (and I never like roumalade) – Cajun and DELICIOUS. Cole slaw…. I dont know what the difference is but I LOVED IT (I never like restaurant Cole slaw). Fish.- flavored to perfection.
Service…phenomenal… so friendly and welcoming. Ill be back with my family!
