The food was excellent, but our waiter disappeared half way through the meal when and appeared to judge my wife for ordering an appetizer as an entree.

After driving 4+ hours to see the Christmas lights, we decided to give the signature restaurant a go. I cannot stress enough that this was the worst meal of both our entire lives. From the moment we walked in it was a super uncomfortable atmosphere. The “fresh, warm bread” was stale and flavorless. I had the eggplant Parmesan and my fiancé had the rainbow trout. My eggplant was old and just plain gross. I don’t know what was in the sauce but eww. His trout had zero flavor, extremely overcooked, and was FULL of bones. Both of our veggies were inedible. We decided to get dessert because it HAD to be better, right? WRONG. I ordered the apple tarte but our server came back 10 minutes later and told me they were out of it. So I decided to try the pecan pie. He had the pumpkin creme brûlée. The pecan pie was 100% from the dollar store freezer section. It was so gelatinous and the pecans on top were burnt. I couldn’t even eat it. His “pumpkin creme brûlée” was NOT in fact creme brûlée at all. It was definitely warmed over pumpkin pie filling from a can. There was no custard. There never was a custard. The texture was extremely off-putting. And to top that all off, there was no caramelized sugar topping. It had obviously been put in the oven for a while because the whole dish was hot, so the pumpkin pie filling was burned on top. I cannot say STAY AWAY enough. We spent $100 on the worst meal of our lives. I would give anything to have not eaten this meal and gone to literally any other restaurant or fast food joint.

We eat here every summer. The food is great. The service can be a little slow, but they’re friendly and accommodating. I wish they would reopen the vegetable garden and create a farm to table concept for The Gardens restaurant. So much potential. Take it to the next level, y’all.
