El Burrito isn’t in your traditional location. It’s actually located in a former Waffle King and you can tell by the interior and exterior design. The thing that sets El Burrito apart from the other Mexican places in Ellijay is the authenticity of the food. This isn’t Tex-Mex or Americanized Mexican food, this is the real deal. As such, be prepared to eat some spicy food by default. I love the fresh tamales and plates here. The salsas are very hot and they offer traditional Mexican drinks in their cooler. There isn’t a ton of room inside, but the bathrooms are always clean.

Best Mexican food in Ellijay! Wife order #7s and loved every bite! With some chips and cheese on the side. I ordered a #3 steak fajita burrito. No onion or tomato. Added jalepeno, pineapple and lettuce. Best dang burrito I’ve ever ate in my life! If you don’t eat here you are missing out! The bad reviews are just people who complain about every little thing.

Hands down one the best breakfast I’ve had. Chilaquiles verdes, Huevos estrellado, Carne Aasada y frijoles. Loved the music they played. Reminded me of my childhood, blasting to music while my mom cooked.

I used to be a big fan of this restaurant, but not anymore. I ordered a burrito from the warm box behind the counter, and half of the tortilla was covered in soggy grease – uneatable. When I told the guy with long dark hair behind the counter, he said the only way I could have another breakfast burrito was to pay again, and no refund. I have never in my 66 years ever been denied a refund or replacement in a restaurant. Things happen, but there is no excuse for a nasty employee with an attitude!

I wanted to try this place to see if I would like it and tell my friends to come with me while visiting town. I tried the Mexican tacos. The tacos themselves were ok.. not extraordinary but not bad at all. The salsa was the same although I only tried the HOT one. The place was clean and fast with plenty of parking. I would come back and try something else.

The staff is so nice. They suggest combinations and want you to try their salsas to find a favorite. We saw a 4.6 rating and tried it out. I had the House Special and my husband had the Chicken Quesadillas. Ridiculously good!! is what my husband said. Soooo good. I would make this my go- to place every time I visit Ellijay

Love there authentic Mexican food. They have always prepared my meal the way I asked them to and the atmosphere is great here. I always have to get my meal to go because of work and they get me in and out.
