I have a uncle that lives in Mt Airy that drives up the mountain just to eat there so I decided to do the same last weekend. It’s a very small adorable restaurant with really good simply made soups and sandwiches. Definitely one of the best rubens I’ve had

Friendly attentive service. Tasty food. Rueben could use more Kraft. Easy to get to off I77S and nice change from fast food. Cute decor and nice outdoor area.

It’s a great spot run by family they cook very fresh food , it’s among the best food I had during my trans America trail journey in America . I had the veg soup and the grill chicken sandwich both of them very very tasty . Veg soup taste like sweet corn soup while sandwich have good portion of chicken and crispy bacon . I also ordered a brownie which was fantastic and a coffee that somehow was not hot that’s why I reduce some
Rating . Over all a very good spot
To try

The food is always fresh. The serving sizes are generous. The tea is delicious and refreshing. I love yo get a sandwich with watermelon as my side for a cool refreshing lunch. They make their chicken salad on site. I’m not sure if they make the sour dough bread but it’s thickly sliced and always fresh. All sandwiches come with a dill pickle spear, and one side (soup, pintos, slaw, chips, pasta salad or seasonal items like watermelon or other fruit). The Deli is located right beside the Blue Ridge Parkway bridge in Fancy Gap and is very popular with tourists.

We’ve made it a habit now, when rolling out of the Fancy Gap area, or when rolling down 77 and looking for something yummy that’s not fast food, to pop into the Gap Deli. If you’re coming from 77, it’s worth the extra time to get to this treasure. The sandwiches are delicious – every one hand crafted. The wraps – yum. The soup – exceptional (GET THE SOUP, doesn’t matter what flavor it is). The baked goods are fresh. There are options for your vegetarians as well as your meat eaters. You can’t go wrong here folks.

An amazing place to eat along the Blue Ridge Parkway for sure. The sandwiches here are actually very good, 10/10 quality. I had the meatloaf sandwich here and it was delicious. Everything on the menu looked good. They also have baked goods and the spiced apples here were another nice touch. Overall, an excellent experience. Cheers.

The tomato soup was divine! The atmosphere is 10/10. Such a wonderfully beautiful shop and area.
I only wish they would put purple onion in their salads and they will be top notch!

Stopped for lunch while camping up the road at Utt’s Campground. Good food options, and was able to accommodate celiac friendly request. Friendly people and great atmosphere both inside and outside seating. Not pet friendly at outside seating, fyi.

Fast and friendly to the left of the general store. Small dining area inside was a little crowded at lunch time but not full and plenty of outdoor space, as well. A quick soup and sandwich combo was served super quick and delicious. The egg salad sandwich comes overflowing out of the bread and loaded with relish and stuff with a cube of cheese and a green olive on a toothpick. Very fancy for a small quick service restaurant on the side of the road between the interstate and the parkway. 4.9 stars!

Our family stopped to eat here while driving along the blue ridge parkway. The restaurant itself is a bit small with only a handful of table inside. It’s a fast casual place, you walk up order at the counter and then they bring your food out.
They were very accommodating for my kids pickiness allowing them to sub things wherever I asked.
The food was great! Our wraps were not over sauced and everything tasted so wonderfully fresh! The food came out quickly. All the employees seemed super attentive and genuinely like great people who enjoyed their work.
