Excellent food. Great service. This place is kinda off the highway. It was quiet and very needed after a long drive. Fish was warm and flaky excellent flavor and cooked perfectly. Burger was awesome. The sauce was a little warm but excellent flavor.

The Galley on the River is hands down one of my favorite spots. The food is consistently outstanding, the service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a true riverfront restaurant. Sitting out there with the water, the wildlife, and the laid-back Southern vibe just makes the whole experience even better.
My personal favorite is the breakfast pizza—it’s easily the best I’ve ever had and something I find myself craving all the time. The appetizers are just as impressive. The alligator cheesecake is a must-try and always a conversation starter, and the jalapeño poppers with the “dippy dip” are absolutely five-star.
Between the incredible food, great service, and the unbeatable river atmosphere, The Galley on the River is a place I’ll keep coming back to and recommending to everyone. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out.

We have lived in the area a long time and decided to try the Galley out since we heard to many great reviews. We got there for a late lunch since we thought it would be slow after the lunch rush. We liked the initial greeting but it start to get a little busy and took a while for them to take our order. We notice the customer was waiting for his food that was in the good windows but I guess there was a loss of communication between the staff. So the food sat there 10 minutes before he was able to ask if he could get his food. We finally ordered food, chicken wings and a pizza. The wings could have been pre seasoned instead of just having a smoky taste with a taste of sauce. The pizza was pretty good. We saw they had live music from 2 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. We might have to check this out. We think it’s a nice little place to hang out. We plan on returning here and see the live band, hopefully they can improve on service. On a side note, we did notice a staff member get a cup of draft beer and take it to the back. Those optics are hard to ignore.

Y’ALL!!! If you don’t eat here, you’re missing something big! Everything about this place is amazing, the service was perfect, the food was fresh and delicious, and beers were crisp!!!! I forgot to ask for server’s name, but she was one of the best I’ve had recently!!! The back of the house did a great job as well. We will go back for sure:) This little hidden gem is worth making a regular spot

Reviewing for Saturday 1/3/26 around 5pm-ish. It is a seat yourself restaurant. We had a party of 9 (4 adults & 5 kids/teens) and we were able to split between 2 tables just fine. Morgan was a waitress and she was amazing! Very attentive and on it with our tables. There was live music when we arrived, so it was loud but we could talk to each other at our own table. They didn’t play too much longer after we arrived. The food was very delicious! I came for their beer battered fish & blackened shrimp and they were delicious! (FYI: There is a cash discount, so pay in cash if possible).

Great roadside/riverside bar and restaurant. We stopped in for a drink and wish we hadn’t already eaten lunch. Great menu with many choices at reasonable prices. We’ll definitely be going back.

On our way to Billy’s seafood, we stopped in for a cold beer and appetizer. We had the ” pretzel” with cheese. This was the best version of a “pretzel” we have ever had. It is phenomenal and more like a homemade, baked salted bread. It is very hard to describe. l.Highly recommend. Will be back to try some different options and of course the “pretzel” again! Great job!

Mostly dirt parking, unmarked. Outside resembles the Bates Motel but inside was clean and spiffy. Nice variety menu and the food was tasty. My BLT was exceptional. Polite service. But again we were disappointed to be gouged for a credit card fee so I left a note instead of a tip. I view that as management stealing from the service staff. It was meant to be a relief for business during covid but folks down here are just using it to gouge the public.
