Quaint and lovely atmosphere. Excellent customer service. Nice selection of wines and cocktails. The Seared Tuna was delicious on the Farm Salad but the salad itself could be more flavorful.

The lobster benedict was delicious and service was good. The only disappointment was ‘MP’ was $40, while you can walk a mile down the road and get a whole lobster at other restaurants for ~$25-30; which is what I would have expected to pay. Very good, but better options for the price.

Where to start. Went to Front Room after Googling the best pancakes in Maine. Front Room made the list for their silver dollar pancakes. Parking was easy on the street when they opened. There was also no wait as we were waiting out front when they unlocked the door at 9. Getting our drinks and the ordering process was easy. My daughter got the pancakes and I tried the French toast special, which I overheard the hostess raving about. Our food took about 30 minutes to make it to the table – others that ordered after us got theirs first, but whatever. My French toast (if you can call it that) and my daughters pancakes were both burnt. I also ordered a side of bacon, which was also a bit beyond overcooked. The French toast was more like stale slabs of Texas toast or whatever bread they used. As best as I could tell they weren’t dipped in anything before cooking. I had to let the blueberry’s and lemon topping soak into the bread to make it soft enough to get past staleness and the burnt flavor. The person at the table next to me had the regular French toast off the menu and it looked like regular French toast and it looked good. The pancakes were not the silver dollar pancakes from all the reviews (which upon second reading are several years old). Two more notes: the bathroom is a mess with soap in a not labeled cooking squeeze bottle and the paper towel holder nearly falling off the wall. For all that, we paid over $50. It was like $8 for three burned pieces of bacon and my three slabs of stale bread was $18. There are way too many better places in and around Portland to get breakfast. Go to one of them instead for better, cheaper, and faster food.

Locals recommended this restaurant but I would not return. Reservations required but we were served anyway. Not that busy. No off-street parking. Food okay but not worth the hype or $$.

Amazing food and amazing service! I ate at The Front Room for brunch and would go back tomorrow for brunch again if I could! The restaurant was super cozy with lots of 2- and 4-person tables, plus two booths. Upon seating, our waitress immediately offered us drinks and refilled our coffee frequently. Whatever time of day you go for brunch, definitely get the bacon gnocchi! It came with delicious thick-cut bacon, spinach, and two poached eggs smothered in hollandaise sauce. It was plenty of food, but I didn’t feel overly stuffed afterwards. It was incredibly tasty! And fortunately they also offer a vegetarian gnocchi option! Service was great and I hope to visit again soon.

What a surprising find in Portland! Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, this restaurant is just terrific! You’ll want to make a reservation if you plan on going here, but it’s worth the pre planning! The drinks were tasty, the service was friendly and professional, and the food was delicious. Their corn bread was especially scrumptious, you’re not going to want to skip that. It’s been weeks and I am still thinking about the fantastic meal I had at The Front Room!

We loved the outdoor seating, the food was delicious. Carrot Soup, I would have been happy if the meal had ended there! My husband had the win with Swordfish on Rissotto, the daily special. We topped it off with a Triple Chocolate Cheesecake. And all of this was served by delightful staff. Bridget was exceptional.
