Honestly this place should be ashamed to call themselves a BBQ joint. Edible BBQ, but just barely. Very obvious it was frozen and doesn’t taste anything like pulled pork. Fries were decent, waitress had no idea about the food, and it was super quiet inside… all I heard was gossip about McRae by the staff. Definitely won’t be back, unfortunately.

Stopped at this place by chance and I’m so glad we did. Great food and the prices are very reasonable. I had the Large BBQ sandwich. Make sure to try their gold BBQ sauce.. It is top notch! I will definitely be back

I don’t know what it was like before it moved next door and became a buffet, but it seems to have gotten some good reviews. Hope the current incarnation improves. I’ve been twice and the Sunday lunch was better than the week day. Have yet to see any bbq offered, the reason I went in the first place.

Great food. We were going through McRae and didn’t want the typical fast food. So we found this little gem. We had the wicked burger, pimento and cheese, BBQ sandwich, Brunswick stew, and the sidewinder fries. The wicked was large enough to half – which is what we did. The pimento and cheese is served on Texas toast and is possibly the best I’ve had. It has a little kick to it. Brunswick stew was good. And the BBQ had a great flavor. We had the red vinegar based sauce. They offer a yellow mustard sauce also. This is a small establishment. Nothing fancy and it doesn’t need to be. I don’t go to a restaurant because it’s fancy. I would definitely recommend this eatery and if I’m back in McRae, I’ll eat there again. Give them a try.

I read the reviews first and they were decent, but there aren’t many choices in McRae. So, ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was not good, pretty sure they use frozen pre-made patties. Any way, ate my fries and left hungry because I didn’t finish the burger. There were 4 of us, 3 got our burgers at the same time, the 4th had to wait another 10-15 minutes for his. Can’t say I’ll be back.

Hamburger all the way, tasted funny, maybe frozen patties? Only ate 3 bites….sweet tea, kinda tasted like the container, not good either, their sign out front had fried chicken on it. But no chicken on the menu. Should have gone across the street to McDonald’s. Will not be back.

This place has the absolute best BBQ. Their ribs like melt of the bone they are so tender. And the Brunswick stew, you couldn’t ever possibly find a better Brunswick stew anywhere. It was perfect.
