I have been going there for a few years now and it’s amazing. The service is so friendly and the food is phenomenal. I enjoyed a wonderful lunch today at the Gingerbread Festival.

Simply great food and service. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and treated us like family. The Italian cuisine is as authentic as it gets and the Red sauce is delicious. The portions are such that we had a decent amount of leftover for lunch the next day. I recommend calling ahead for reservations as this place is extremely busy, for good reason. Make sure you save room for dessert; the key lime pie is incredible.

Stopped here while on a Sunday drive. The pizza was excellent! The crust is obviously made fresh and the toppings were delicious. The staff is very friendly.

This is a hidden gem in the forest. If you haven’t been here, take a day and go get lost and cook Forest and on the way home. This is where you want to stop the food’s outstanding. The prices are outstanding. The staff is great. I can’t say enough about how much we love this place. We drive up to 2 hours multiple times per year to go and enjoy lunch or dinner. The wife and the kids love the menu and love the atmosphere. Go get lost sometime. Stop by and see these guys. You won’t regret it.

Really cute place in the woods with delicious food. We went on a very rainy Saturday evening. The hostess greeted us and asked if we had reservations (we did not) however it didn’t seem to be a problem, she quickly went and got a table ready on the porch. The hot pepper cheese balls were a great appetizer. Really good chicken salad We enjoyed our meal outside (even in a hard rain), the porch was perfect! We have a camp nearby and will ABSOLUTELY be returning soon and often!

Hands down the best chicken Parmesan I’ve ever eaten! Also the chef was nice enough to substitute pasta for fries, a lot of places won’t, so that goes a long way, they have such a beautiful atmosphere, relaxing and peaceful. A definite must!

It’s unfortunate that a lovely little place nestled in the woods has such ill-mannered staff. I don’t like to write negative reviews, but this needs to be said. Four of us (ages 50-70) had spent the day on the river, and we didn’t have reservations, but we stopped by to have a quick drink before heading home. It was not quite 5 PM, and the restaurant was empty but for a few tables.
When we approached to be seated, a man stood with his arms crossed at the entrance, rather like an intimidating bouncer, and snarled, “Do you have a reservation?”
To which, I replied, “No.”
Smugly, he eyed us over, and then rudely sneered, “Well, not until 7:30.”
He didn’t say this nicely. He was downright mean about it. The tone of his voice was rude, disdainful, and contentious.
Who does that? Especially with a mostly empty restaurant. You’d think he would say something along the lines of, “I’m sorry, but we are all booked up; however, we do have some openings after 7:30.”
We can deal with being booked up, but senseless rudeness is bad business, so we didn’t argue, we just left.
We’ve been there before, several times. The location is lovely, but the food was average, overpriced, and the service was slow. It’s the patio that draws people in, but we won’t be back on principle. We went up the road to the Trail’s End, and the service was stellar.
And honestly, you can’t tell me that every reservation was for 5 or 5:30 or even 6. We drove by again on our way home, after such a nice experience at Trail’s End, and the restaurant wasn’t full. There were still empty tables. And if this is the way they continue to do business, they’re going to see more and more empty tables.
People can deal with average food or slow service because they enjoy the location, but what people won’t deal with is rudeness. If you’re missing basic customer service skills like kindness, then you won’t be around long.

Beautiful, cute little cafe style restaurant deep in the woods of Cook Forest! Our waitress was amazing and so sweet, and our food was delicious and obviously homemade/fresh. Can’t wait to go back again! Also they have a very cute little store next to the restaurant!

Quaint outdoor setting with upscale appeal. The food was amazing with detail to both flavor and presentation. This is a nice place to take your spouse on a date or to meet friends for food in the middle of the Forest. You won’t be disappointed.

Very expensive
I believe it was like $27.95 or $28.95 for a turkey dinner
I don’t honestly remember the prices of everything, after I saw the price of that turkey dinner. I thought that was outrageous, ridiculous!
I had a burger but it wasn’t a bad price. It was $15.95
Fries were definitely under cooked !
Service was excellent.
Very friendly.
I just think the food is very overpriced!
