We have only been here a couple of times, my wife and I but we always feel welcome by Kimberly, the energetic, lovely, young bartender/waitress who effortlessly takes care of customers, no matter how busy. The food is delicious and the establishment oozes with character. Their mascot is an additional attraction. We will be back next year for the winter warmth and this local gem.

Recently visited the flying pig bar located by Pablo Kisel. I was greatly disappointed by staff. I was not greeted as other customers were and was not given service until 8 or 10 min later. The waitress walked by back and forth several times without asking if we needed anything or to say hello or welcome. When we finally got service we only had two drinks. Didn’t feel like spending more time at this location. Don’t waste your time at this bar.

We love coming here. Amazing food and great drink selection. The people here are the best, very friendly. We’ve been coming here for years now and we’ve always had a great experience. Everything is good here.

Different vibe in this joint. No ice tea? In Texas? I can overlook that. The flying pig has been here many, many years. Obviously, it’s doing something right. It’s more of a bar than a restaurant or grill. The flying pig has an exuberant selection of beers and hard liquor that will please anyone who wishes to get their drink on. Arrived @ about 1230. Maybe 8 other folks inside. Our server was fast, efficient, friendly and knew the menu well. Ordered the Monster burger and Pork belly tacos. The Monster burger should be renamed ( I need a shower now burger! ) It’s huge, filling and kinda messy. The onion rings were fried perfectly. The tacos were excellent! We hadn’t been here in atleast 7yrs the updated inside was a nice change if not a bit dark. It might be a nice Winter Texan spot. I just gotta get over the uneasy vibe.
Plotted. Scouts Out.

I really hate to tell people about this place, but this one of the coolest ‘local’ spots in the Valley. They always have a friendly staff, the beer is cold, and the food is surprisingly delicious.
Our table ordered cheese sticks, buffalo ranch tots, a Big Dog, and two Monster burgers. I substituted bison for my burger and it was amazing! I also got sweet potato fries instead of potato fries.
I asked the bartender, Roy, for a recommendation for a dark beer and he delivered!!!!!
I love this place and will be back time and time again when I travel to the valley.
My only criticism is that the music could be turned down just a bit. Other than that, all is good.

Very casual restaurant, a great placw to drop in for a few drinks and food. I had the brisket sandwich which was super tasty. The Texas margarita I had as okay. The vibe is chill, casual bar. The servers are few and pretty busy getting every tables service so it was a little but not too bad to get the waiters attention.

OMG! This is my new favorite bar. I live in Wisconsin and will make time to go back. Margaritas are made from scratch. Duck quesadilla, alligator taco and even a brussel sprout and sweet potato taco! Ribeye sandwich is phenomenal as well. It may take me 9-10 months but I will be back!! Make this a must stop on your trip, you won’t regret it:)

First time visite to this unique restaurant, which has been a local hangout in Olmito since 2008. Located on the frontage road, this establishment offers well drinks, beer, appetizers and good food. The very reasonably price main courses are well proportioned and delicious. The food and the service are both good, but what stands out is the lively atmosphere which is complimented by the onsite (modern) juke box. Don’t let the interior furnishings and decor keep you from giving this bar/dinner a try-I recommend it.

This place is your classic hole in the wall. Located north of Brownsville in Alito, Texas on the side of the highway. It has been in the owners family for about 100 years. However, it started as a post office a bus stop and a general store. Now it is a chill spot to get good food with friends and have a variety of cold craft beers. Definitely worth checking out whether you’re a local or passing through. It is one several awards for their culinary offerings as well. It’s not your typical burger. For this visit, I had the turkey burger. As you can see in my picture. Along with onion rings and a full set up. Very tasty. Definitely come in and check out the flying peg the next time you’re in the area.
