The Flying Goat was created in 2010 to become a neighborhood craft beer bar and casual eatery, where the craft beer list is as carefully chosen as the menu items themselves. As we studied the time-honored history of classic pizza making, we were inspired by the legacy, flavors, and aromas of the Neapolitan Style. Our goal was to honor the craft of artisan pizza making, while creatively infusing local flavors and ingredients.
Neapolitan pies plus myriad beers & wine served in an industrial-cool spot with patio & fire pit.

Flying Goat – SpotOn Order
Reviews
The hostess desk was friendly and honest. Outdoor fire pit seating available first and still a bit of a wait -45 minutes. They get your number and text you when the table is ready. So glad we waited.
(We have a gluten allergy in our group and this place serves gluten free pizzas as a crust option.) The pizzas were excellent. We ordered Gordon, Kerri and Waikik. We also tried the Ram Fire sauce – yummy. I chose the Kerri and added tomatoes. They were happy to accommodate. I Loved it!! I couldn’t tell it was gluten free and the thinly sliced basil, cheese chunks, with the tomatoes was delicious!
The rest of the group loved their pizzas too.
Wait staff was friendly and helpful andI highly recommend this place!!
It took forever for us to get our drinks, for us to be able to order our food, and for our food to be delivered. After almost an hour of waiting, we got our food, and then a 6-person table, which was sat almost 30 minutes after us, got their food immediately after ours.
My pizza was good, but it definitely wasn’t worth the price I paid for it.
They do have unique pizza combos, and my friends enjoyed their pizzas, but I don’t see us coming here again.
We visited Flying Goat after a glowing recommendation from a friend who described it as the place for pizza and wings in Spokane. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite match the hype.

Pizza – Great Crust, Disappointing Toppings
I ordered the La Crosse pizza with an olive oil base and substituted chicken for the Italian sausage. I typically avoid tomato sauce, so I appreciated the menu flexibility. However, the chicken tasted processed, like deli meat, and the sweet peppers overpowered the dish. I ended up scraping most of the toppings off and enjoying the pizza for its olive oil, melted cheese, and surprisingly excellent crust—chewy, flavorful, and easily the highlight. I even dipped the crust in ranch and sprinkled red pepper flakes to give it more punch.
⸻
Wings – Dry & Lacking Flavor
We also got the 6-piece Buffalo wings, which were lukewarm and noticeably dry. The sauce leaned too heavily on vinegar and lacked depth or richness. The temperature issues didn’t help—they felt like they had been sitting for a while before being served.
⸻
Salad – Simple but Serviceable
The small salad was fresh and basic. I ended up using the ranch dressing from the salad as a dip for the pizza crust.
⸻
️ Food Temperature – The Dealbreaker
The biggest disappointment was that both the pizza and wings arrived barely warm. For oven-baked pizza, I really value that steamy, fresh-from-the-oven contrast—crusty on the outside, soft and hot inside. That magic was completely missing.
⸻
️ Service & Ambience – A Silver Lining
The service was warm and polite, and we appreciated being able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the sunshine and breeze. It made the meal more enjoyable, even if the food didn’t live up to expectations.
⸻
Value – Reasonable, But Not Compelling
The lunch special (~$13.50) is fair for the portion size. But if you care about ingredient quality and food freshness, this may not hit the mark.
⸻
Bottom Line:
We wouldn’t return, but if you’re looking for a casual, quick lunch and don’t mind lukewarm food, this might still work for you. Just temper expectations, especially if you’re a foodie or sensitive to ingredient quality like I am.
