We walked in and no hostess. Found someone who gruffly said go back there. Back patio was beautiful. Server brought wrong order than later said she forgot our order.
I had a simple pizza . Crust was great but the cheese was still hard and the pizza had a very strange flavor.
My wife had a Salmon pasta that like mine had been cooked to quickly and didn’t taste right. Being generous with 3 stars as they were having staff issues

If you want to have an amazing culinary experience you need to visit The Flying Fork. The ambience is incredible. The food! The food is amazing! Everything was wonderful. So wonderful we went back the next day. Jessica made the experience even better. She was delightful. I will definitely coming back and I highly recommend you pay them a visit.

One of our favorite places to go in Paonia. We visit each fall, and enjoy the food and atmosphere of this restaurant. Quiet, no horrid music playing like so many restaurants these days. The owners are a husband and wife team, arm friendly and competent people who make you feel welcome and at home. Don’t miss out and get there early and enjoy outside dining on the shaded patio!

Delicious find in Paonia… we had the Burrata, Spinaci salad, pasta primavera and short ribs. Jen was our sweet wonderful waitress and the entire staff was excellent. We will be back anytime our travels bring us this way (after a day wine tasting at the Black Bridge or Azura… exploring Kebler Pass and the beautiful aspens and ferns).

I’ve seen the Fork revolve over the last twelve years, and I love its latest Sicilian incarnation. The food is excellent with preference to local produce and wine. Most recently we were delighted by the Monday night pizza buffet, which had fantastic pies and one of the best caprese I’ve ever had. It wasn’t exactly a cheap Monday night meal, but I don’t know how they’re making money with this caliber of food either. It remains a little gem in a town with few options.

We went on a Monday night. What they called a buffet night.
It was absolutely awful. The pizza was mostly bread with very little sauce, and no toppings. Everything was cold…..
Genuinely depressing experience. The worst part was, it cost $89 before the tip with two lemonades, and no refills.
Perhaps from the menu would have been better. But I would definitely never go back on a Monday.

Visiting from Texas our 2nd night here hoping for a wonderful experience. The website states they open at 5pm we waited for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us another 15 minutes to find out it was buffet only. My husband walked in several times requesting service until we finally left after 30 minutes. As we’re leaving the owners wife finally decided to come out only to yell at us ” hope you find a good place to eat!” So rude!!! I’ve never been treated like this !! Ever!! If you want bad service then you’ve found your place. We had bad service last year as well but this year they hit it out of the ball park.

Casual setting. Here for work. Can’t wait to bring back the family. They love Italian food and this was excellent. Prices were reasonable. Service was good.

What an absolutely amazing gem on the Western Slope! We had never been here under the former ownership, but if I still lived in this part of the world I would be happy to give them much of my money….! The warmth of the family and their delicious recipes is evident, and it’s especially notable that they choose to serve only local wines, as to support their neighbors. Thank you all so much for your spot-on service and dedication to your sweet small town.

So happy this Paonia institution reopened! It may have different owners and a different menu, but the food (and the presentation) was amazing, and the staff was super friendly. We sat on the patio, but the inside was nicely done as well.
A bit of constructive criticism: the patio is a peaceful sanctuary, but a loud AC or mini-split unit above the door made it much less enjoyable. Also, we found out it reopened by chance when we just happened to look it up online. Had we not, we would have driven by and still assumed it was closed because there’s no sign outside nor any other indication that it’s a functioning restaurant (unless it’s after dark and you just happen to see the lights on the patio). Also, the simple look of the menu gives the impression that the food will likewise be simple or below average, so we were a little nervous when we ordered. Fortunately we were pleasantly surprised.
