Such a local favorite! I loved my lunch at Marti’s at Midday — the sandwiches, fresh salads, and house‑made scoops are full of flavor and made with care. The cozy café in a historic Normaltown cottage with its sunny patio is the perfect spot for a relaxed midday meal with friends or a quick solo bite. Friendly service and delicious, quality food make this one of the best lunch spots in Athens!

Oct ’24: So…very terrible experience. Barely acknowledged once seated and got the feeling it was a bother for us to be there, especially from the manager. We were seated at the bar and an employee carted trash bags in the aisle behind us; there is not much room between the bar and the tables. Perhaps they should wait until after closing so as not to gross customers out. We watched several customers come in and wait without being acknowledged at all and then finally sat after at least 5 minutes without the place being busy. We will not be back to this location.

Very clean restaurant. Our waitress AJ gave excellent service and checked on us often. First time I had lunch here and it was delicious. You can get any of the sandwiches as a wrap. I got the chicken sandwich as a wrap and it was very tasty. I have had breakfast here before and has always been good.
This restaurant was located across from Athens Piedmont Hospital.

The food was good, but disappointing from all of the hype. The biscuit was flat and crumbling not light and fluffy as advertised. The chicken was a bit dry. The waffle on the other hand was light and fluffy, but would have been better with a better quality syrup instead random syrup packets. I am hoping it was just an off day.

Great place to eat. Great atmosphere. Very upbeat and uplifting for a breakfast place for sure. I knew it was going to be good when I walked in the door. They had outside seating as well. My wife got a wheat pancake. I got the peaches and cream waffle. Grits were amazing. Great service. Will be back soon. It’s our new breakfast spot.

I came here for brunch, and I greatly enjoyed it. The atmosphere and decor of this place are nice. I got the eggs Benedict, which I thought was delicious. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice brunch spot.

My wife and I had breakfast here and unfortunately the experience was uncomfortable from the start.

When we arrived, the hostess initially went to seat us at one table, then changed her mind and placed us away from everyone else. As more guests came in, we remained the only couple seated separately while others were grouped together, which felt strange and unwelcoming.

When it came time to order, I asked the waitress about substituting a side while looking at the menu. There was no response, and when I looked up, she was staring at me with an uncomfortable expression instead of answering the question. During the meal, we asked for steak sauce and were brought an empty bottle. When I mentioned it was empty, the reaction seemed irritated.

Throughout our visit, we were treated as if we were not going to tip, which was disappointing—especially since we were polite, needed very little, and ultimately tipped generously. As we were leaving, the hostess noticed us heading out and immediately went into the kitchen instead of offering a goodbye, even though she acknowledged other guests.

We chose to remain kind and respectful, but the overall experience left us feeling unwelcome. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Really nice little breakfast spot with a good amount of selection. The only complaint that I’d have would be that the biscuits were a little dry but maybe if you ask for fresh biscuits that could fix the issue. Really nice severs with a great attitude made the visit that much nicer.

We ordered catering for our end of year employee luncheon. The ordering process, the customer service and most importantly the food were all spectacular. I’ve personally always loved being a patron of Flying Biscuit and have always received great service but to see that translate over to a large catering order was really impressive. Our whole team loved the meal. We will definitely work with them again for future events.
