I have always enjoyed the Flying Biscuit and was excited when they opened in Matthews a few years ago. The service and food are always great. I came for brunch on a Sunday morning around noon. There was about a 20 minute wait, but this is expected on a weekend morning. When we were seated we were greeted and our orders were taken quickly. Overall the service was quick. I have had many of the items in the menu and today I ordered the Hollywood omelette. It has vegetables and cheese in an egg white omelette, and it was served with grits and a biscuit. Everything tasted great. Overall, this was a great experience eating at the flying biscuit café. My only note is that the restaurant is very tight inside. This used to be a pizza restaurant and you can tell it used to be one. I wish they would expand the restaurant so they could have a more spacious dining room and host more customers at the same time. But I do understand that space is limited in the current footprint.

Y with Offline – Let me tell yall about the two guys in the kitchen making this food… Elmer and Ronaldo! I have to give them their flowers because my Egg-Stravaganza was absolutely perfect. My scrambled eggs were buttery and SO good. The mood dusted potatoes were seasoned so well and the rosemary??? YUM! Literally everything was perfect.
My server Riley was also so sweet and attentive! I came towards closing and still she was bubbly and positive and helpful!
Truly everyone made my experience so good. Matthews is out of the way for me but the staff here would make me return time and time again!

First time at this location and honestly was not impressed. Walked up around 10:45 am just to see what the wait time would be for 2 people. We were immediately sat which was great. Unfortunately, we waited for about 20 minutes before our waitress came out to take our order, and that’s only because I asked if our waitress could come out and at least take our drink order. Ordered their pancake tacos, and their piedmont omelet. Honestly, the omelet was not that great. The bacon bits inside were super black and burnt and tasted very old. The egg also just tasted like it had been sitting out under a light. It was very dry and just did not have any taste to it. The biscuit was very cold, dry, and hard. Not fluffy at all. The only tasty things were the grits and the dust potatoes. Those were very delicious. Warm, crisp, and very well marinated. Wouldn’t come back again.

I got the Hot Lanta Chicken Sandwich. It was pretty good I would give it a solid 7.5/10. I also got the moon dust potato’s they were okay not the best, they kind of had a weird aftertaste, but that could just be personal preference. Atmosphere was nice and people were nice. I ate outside on the patio with a group of 20.

My boyfriend and I went here when it use to be Pizza Peel. It was one of our first dates so we decided to visit the new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The food was so so so good. The portions are big. Definitely worth the visit. This is our new breakfast spot.

Come here every so often. It’s a comfort spot for me and my boyfriend. I have tried many different options but he LOVES the fried green tomato BLT. I haven’t tried it yet but he has ordered it the last 3 times so I’m assuming it’s good.

I’ve had the patty melt and the Hollywood omelette that I can remember and they both were FREAKING DELICIOUS.

I love the ambiance of the restaurant with the flying biscuits flying through the restaurant. They are always busy though so there might be a wait but it’s worth it for some good breakfast/lunch grub.

Service is always good – though sometimes they are overwhelmed but that’s expected when they are constantly busy.

We love you guys.

The cranberry apple butter is gonna be the death of me y’all, if I could id put that stuff on everything because it is absolutely delicious. Ive come here a handful of times now and each time it’s been really good and I love all of the different options that they have on their menu but the pancake tacos are definitely a running favorite for me! Their biscuits are always super fluffy and and soft and the cranberry apple butter ties it all together.

Glad this place came to downtown Matthews. There is a large menu with many options. Food is very fresh and delicious. Wait was very short and the wait staff was really good….never a dry cup and always checking in.

Although there is a lot of breakfast choices in the area, I highly recommend this place.

This was our first time here. It was during the week about 11:00 and it was not crowded so we were able to sit right away. The place has cute decorations, has a patio to sit out on in nice weather and parking available.

I ordered the Eggs Stravaganza, which had 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 1 round sausage patty, grits, biscuit and 2 small pieces of French toast. I ordered this so we would try a little of everything.

Unfortunately, The food came out like it was reheated. The sausage was hard as a rock and the bacon was dry and just warm and it tasted like it was cooked in advance and heated up. The rest of the breakfast was ok, nothing special. My hubby had chicken and waffles and he said that was good. He has never had that dish before, so nothing to compare it to, but he seemed to like it.

Those 2 dishes, a cup of coffee and cup of tea was $44 with tip. We would not frequent this place again as the food was just average. It is a great location though being right downtown Matthews.

Went to lunch here with my children during the free kids meal day. The food was pretty good except for the kids pizza. They’re English muffins, which would be fine, but they didn’t have enough topping. My son really enjoyed his pizza and the wings were pretty good. Our server was nice and did a fine job. Overall, pretty good experience, and the homemade applesauce was by far the best I ever tasted.
