Went here Sunday after 7 pm for dinner. No wait time to be seated, but we didn’t like the table we were originally sat at, which was in the middle of the room, so we did wait a few mins to be moved to a more comfortable booth instead. Staff were accommodating and friendly. The restaurant has a nice ambiance fit for an enjoyable fun night of drinks and food.

To drink, I tried their $5 Cranberry Crush (7/10) it was refreshing and slushy, but not strong at all really just a slushy juice and the Georgia Peach (10/10) loved the flavor and was a decently strong drink.

To eat, we started with the Pork Rinds appetizer (10/10) they were definitely fresh and flavorful; I loved the sauce that came with them. I also ordered the Catfish basket (5/10) I was excited when this came to the table because it looked as though it would taste good and was a great portion size; however, it didn’t meet my expectations at all. There was no flavor to the fish or batter and the Mac and cheese was very much the same way, bland.

Though I am giving a lower rating, I would come back for drinks and to possibly try a different food. Feel like I must’ve ordered the wrong thing or the cook was having a bad night? I have no clue, but I’m open to returning in the future.

My overall rate of experience : 6/10

This place was very much a place you would go to for a date night. The vibe was nice. It was casual. They have a little store inside that you could buy sauces and you can also buy some apparel. They also have a bar menu that suffer from the main menu there’s also a dessert menu that rotates and we got to try some of their most famous options on the menu and we had a good time here our favorite item that we ordered were the pork skins and we paired it with the Carolina sauce. we tried all the sauces that they offered at the table. We also had a great time here because we like the casualness and the craft paper that they put on your table that keeps it fun and light if you make a mess, they’ll just rip her off and I’ll give you a new one or at the end of your time there they’ll just take the whole thing away.

Me and my coworkers stopped in for lunch. The food came out quick. I had the Shrimp Po Boy with fries, it was really good! Filled with huge shrimp and a delicious dill sauce. It was so big that I had to eat it with a knife and fork. Our waitress was really nice and very attentive. My coworkers also enjoyed their meals of fried pollock, and chicken toes. We will be back!

First, our waitress Amanda was amazing! Exttemely curteous, attentive and accommodating.
Now the food. I was told by my staff that I needed to try deep fried catfish. Never would I have expected something so light and fluffy in a crisp breading. Excellent!! I thought the pulled pork had the texture of last night’s batch defrosted for today. The brisket wasn’t even remotely tender and on the dry side. The sausage was actually super good as well as the chicken. The ribs was one hunk of meat that was beyond dehydrated. Unfortunately, it seemed like the food was mass produced in a factory and defrosted before serving…with the exception of the catfish.

My husband and I visited this spot on a Tuesday afternoon. It’s a tucked away spot in theheart of Norfolk. Parking is not too good. You have to park on the street, but luckily someone was leaving, and we were able to get their spot. Upon approaching the restaurant, it looked like a tin can sitting on the corner, but oh when you open the doors, the
atmosphere changes drastically. The restaurant was huge with a mixture of sports bar/mid-century modern with fairy lights draped around the bar to give it a warm and ambient setting. I thought it was very welcoming. We were greeted and sat as soon as we walked in.
Brown paper covered the tables, ready for people to chow down and not have to worry about getting food everywhere and I saw it was easy for clean-up. Tere were a lot of great dishes on the menu, but I decided on the pork and catfish which incTuded pulled pork, 3 pieces of fried catfish served with cilantro dill remoulade, slaw and my choice of mac and cheese. The pulled pork was good just needed sauce which was already sitting on the table. Iasked for the catfish to be fried hard, came out soft, but it was still tasty. You could tell that the mac and cheese was made with some white FLAVORLESS cheese. It had great
texture but NO FLAVOR at all. Slaw had great texture and all the right ingredients but NO FLAVOR The fried pickle slices were my favorite. My husband had half rack of baby back ribs with COLLARDS-NO FLAVOR baked beans-alright, COLESLAW- NO FLAVOR, and
jalapeno cornbread. The food looked fabulous but gets a 2.5 out of 5. The atmosphere holds this place together. They do give a milirary discount which was a plus++++
However, It’s a ONE AND DONE for me!

I have ordered approximately $95.00 worth of food, yet the quality of the food has been disappointing. The taste of the food is reminiscent of it being cooked in old grease, and the collard greens are gritty, suggesting they were cooked in sand. This establishment has certainly made me consider contacting the health department. It is unacceptable to serve old mac n cheese or food that has been fried in old oil. I will not be supporting this business in the future. If you know better, you should do better.

•The macaroni and cheese was lacking in cheese.
•The fried green tomatoes were soggy and very greasy.
•The brisket came out dry, don’t let the glistening fool ya.
•The greens were good, perfect amount of vinegar and heat.
•Food did not come out hot.
•The vibe on Friday night felt more of a lively bar scene than a family with littles dinner spot.
•On the positive side, the staff was friendly.

This was our first time going and I have to say the food was really good. Only problem we had was finding parking, but it’s worth it. We will definitely be going back.
