Conveniently located close to the Spectrum Center, which worked out since we had a concert after dinner. This spot is in the Ritz Hotel, formally where BLT was and it’s OK. The menu was decent and I ended up with the shrimp and grits was which was alright, not the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had, but in the middle. I should add that the drinks were nice and strong, so that made up for where other things fell short. Would I go again? Maybe, but would not be in a rush.

We were so impressed that they had such consideration for my food sensitivities, even adjusting an ingredient to accommodate me. The food was delicious. We had the shrimp cocktail and pork belly as starters. For the main, we had the salmon and short rib. The service was great! I recommend this restaurant, especially if you have food sensitivities.

Butternut squash soup is terrible. Not for my taste buds. Now I’m waiting for my sandwich now. 18 dollars for a blandish soup. This must be a bougie spot like very snobbish place. Damn. One asparagus sphere sliced into a pillar of Alfredo noodles. And then a chickebreast that’s not even seasoned.put simply, this is trash. Alfredo is bland as well. I won’t be back here ever again. Learn how to cook properly. Close this sorry place of a restaurant down. Very sickening to me.

Beautiful space for a cocktail, but an overall disappointing dining experience. 3.5 on food and 4.5 on drinks & atmosphere.

We arrived early before a show with 1.5 hours allotted to dine. Parents especially loved the cornbread muffins brought to the table. I enjoyed the Oaxacan Negroni with an extra squeeze of orange peel to pop the flavor and balance the smokey mezcal. But then…

Service was slow and the server more harried and scarce as more guests arrived. The Fifth Fork appeared short staffed, so kudos to him for trying to keep up.

My MIL and hubby ordered the short ribs. There was a request to have creamed spinach instead of the carrots that came with the short ribs. We were told that the carrots were part of the dish and could not be removed. Thinking that it was actually a substantial amount of vegetable, my mother-in-law did not order an additional vegetable. However, upon presentation, as you can see from the photo, the carrot was more of a garnish with three small slivers. So essentially, no vegetable. The server should have suggested a side salad or side vegetable from the get-go. Missed upsell opportunity. The well-seasoned and tender short rib was unfortunately served with an exceptionally gummy gnocchi with a firm and rubbery bite. Disappointing dish for two guests.

My FIL is the king of Shrimp & Grits but barely touched his meal due to the progressive spice that lingered on the palate. Now, to be fair, this is preference. He fished out just a few shrimp from the sauce, removed the tails (a mystery; why shrimp tails are left on in sauces?), and most else untouched. However, he wasn’t asked why he barely touched his meal or offered another option except being offered a to-go box which he declined. Of course, at the slow rate of the kitchen, they would be not able to accommodate anyway.

Gorgeous presentation of the grouper dish, but very overcooked and dry. Succotash was awesome, just not enough of it. Maybe 4-5 bites? A bit skimpy with the three florets of cauliflower. I let the staff and manager know about the overcooked fish, but declined a substitution due to time constraints. There was flavor. I was hungry. I did not ask for a refund, just please inform the kitchen to adjust the preparation.

Mind you, we had 1.5 hours to dine to not rush the experience; and yet, we did not even order appetizers or desserts.

As a former restaurant critic, it’s a great place to sip and be seen. The primary issues point to understaffing and inconsistencies with the culinary crew that need to be addressed. As is, cornbread and cocktails alone will not sustain success as a fine dining establishment in the ever-evolving Charlotte culinary scene.

Made reservations for Father’s Day. Was told over the phone that they serve dinner all day. Got there, restaurant was empty. Their cooks called out, so there was only 1 cook. Nothing on the menu that we went there for was available. Ordered a filet. It wasn’t seasoned at all and it was Over cooked. Sides (garlic potatoes, asparagus) bland. Crabcake was good but very small for the price. This is DEFINITELY nothing like BLT. I really hate they went under. I will never return to this place. Pasta was bland as well. We spent hundreds of dollars for non-seasoned steaks. I would not recommend at all.

Great service, nice atmosphere. Wagyu steak medium well was incredibly tender but not very flavorful. Everything else was delicious including the gluten free bread.

Our waiter Dan was simply amazing. He went well beyond above and beyond to make sure my friend had a awesome birthday lunch. So if you are ever at the Ritz Carlton in Charlotte, please ask for Dan, tell him Daphne sent him.:)

I had the New York strip sauced with chimichurri and paired with the lobster Mac. New York strips are usually my least favorite cut, but I will say this was lovely. However I feel the chimichurri could use some more flavor. The lobster mac was lovely as well. And that bread! The saltness of it was beautifully balanced with the butter. Also the service was excellent, being greeted and addressed by my name made it more personable. As someone who does services that require building rapport I really appreciate that.

Last night enjoyed dinner here at Fifth Fork before attending event. They had us in and out in plenty of time and an easy walk to Spectrum Center.
The staff were so friendly at the restaurant and made sure we were having our needs met on several occasions.
The appetizer .. Tuna Tartare is fabulous. So fresh and tasty. Our meals of salmon and grouper were good. The grouper would have been better with a different vegetable for the side.
Overall .. a very nice experience and would definitely return!!

Makayla was so nice and helpful over the phone. We are from out of town and unaware of the restaurant change. She was very patient helping explain the menu and making the reservation. We also had SUCH a good meal and service from Dan! He allowed us time to enjoy each other and the meal while also not letting us go without anything. He was a pleasant person to talk with and we enjoyed our basketball conversation a lot. We each got a dessert and they were quite literally the icing on the cake! Cheesecake & toffee pudding won’t disappoint!! We had a GREAT time & look forward to returning soon.
