The artichoke dip blew my mind. It’s a smoky slightly spicy situation. I was told they smoke the cream cheese… I was floored at the way I was sent on a direct flight to flavortown while watching the eagles and cargo ships. They had my interest and then gained all my attention with that dip.
The brisket spud… Oh boy what an assertive quantity of delicious food for I think $17? My leftovers must have weighed a pound and a half, I split them the next day with my buddy and we were both set until dinner. I was impressed by the bacon, which is like fresh bacon bits – it has a well done toothsome texture but it’s in tiny pieces so it’s well distributed through the potato. Enough cheese to know it’s there without overwhelming the sweetness of the brisket.
My buddy had the brisket sandwich. She said she’s ordered many of them over the years all over the place and she wanted you to know she doesn’t usually come out and call a sandwich one of the best she’s ever had but this went straight to the top. No notes 10/10
The pies were great, and I heard they’re going to start serving breakfast with mimosas and such after memorial day. They also have a full bar, not just beer, cider, NA beverages, and wine. Its a small place and the elevator is a little slow but it’s all part of the charm honestly.
Tl;dr: the food, service, and views are money but don’t cost much of it, you should really go
My husband and I were instantly greeted, and our drink order was taken right away. I started with a winter seasonal beer while we looked over the menu and enjoyed the incredible view. We ordered the nachos. Sometimes when we share a dish, he doesn’t get enough to eat, so he also ordered a smash burger.
When our very kind and attentive server brought out our dishes, I instantly looked across the table, saying, “I thought we were going to share the nachos?” But something happened. My eyes saw the size of the nachos, and in surprise, my brain convinced my stomach to say, “challenge accepted.” The warm, seasoned chips were a great base for the pile of extremely flavorful pulled pork topped with nacho cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, sour cream, and fresh sliced avocado. When I say I gave it my all to eat as much as I could, I mean it. I even stopped at one point to say, “I feel like I’m in a food-eating competition with myself.” With a little help from the hubby, we almost finished about 3/4 of it. The pork! It’s so good.
Top off that long unorganized meal with the man attending the traeger smoking out everyone on the deck and all the smoke filtering into the restaurant. But wait there’s more, he was so frustrated with the traeger that he was cursing in front of a table of like 10 toddlers kids for sure under 5!! The lack of control or ability to walk away to an area that is not on public display was shocking.
Now for the food review:
Broccol Cheddar Soup was 9/10 super delicious and was the highlight of all the dishes ordered and sampled. Would have loved the broccoli cut up a bit more as some pieces were huge. But so tasty!!!
Artichoke dip was 2/10. Nothing to brag about.
Hot dogs 6/10 the buns were hard and gross but the meat was very tasty.
Chicken ceasar wrap 4/10 for one it was falling apart entirely, the smoked pulled chicken was all smoke no flavor and did not pair well with the ceasar. The dressing itself was so yummy but over powered by so much smoky meat.
Taco Spuds 7/10 needed more salsa or sour cream etc to help off set the dry factor of the potato but otherwise huge portion and very good.
I wish them the best but will not be returning even though that rooftop view was amazing.
The real kicked though is the food. My wife loves soft pretzels with cheese, we had seen pictures but they don’t do it justice. Their pretzels are HUGE! My wife ate about half and had to take the rest home.
I ordered the pepperoni pizza so I’d have some for later. It came out nice and hot, with good parts cheese, sauce, and pepperoni. The pepperoni was nice and crispy, but not so much so that it was like eating crispy bacon.
All in all, The Farm on The Roof goes into our restaurant rotation!
