On a road trip on the Christmas Eve and passing by Richmond, VA. My VA friend told me about this spot, so I decided to eat there for lunch and as a rest stop.
Was super interested in the grit tots and it was very good! Big pieces and crispy on the outside with grit “particles” (hahah I don’t know how to describe it) mixed in with ham pieces. With the mayo on the side, it was great.
Also ordered the crab cake benedict – loved how eggs are perfectly cooked. I think I liked this less than the grit tots was the combination of oil cooked collard greens and the hollandaise was a bit too heavy for me. The crab cakes were great – very tender and crispy on the edges.

This is a nice little spot to get some buttered biscuits filled with some breakfast goodies. It’s not super huge but coincides with a bunch of restaurants around the area, which is busy and can be limited on parking depending on the time of day. The workers here were fast and efficient, and the biscuits themselves were hot and packed with flavor. If I’m not mistaken there is outdoor seating as well. We went on a not so busy day, and we were seated quickly. Having a stressful day already, the biscuit/ comfort food helped. They have a few more options that aren’t so biscuit related such as soups, salad and some sandwiches if you prefer something else.

Stopped in for breakfast during the week. I had The Fan biscuit. I thought it tasted pretty good, but was on the small side for $15. Also had the collard greens, which were not cooked fully. They were very tough, although the flavor wasn’t bad. Service was good, but there may have only been one other customer being served.

Absolutely Amazing
Had the Pickeled Deviled Eggs (Why have I never thought of this?)
As well, the B & G was perfectly prepared. Could not ask for a more perfectly made biscuit.
Server was nice and attentive also. 10/10

It was my first time here and it definitely gave all it was supposed to give. My favorite was the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. I’m going back for more!!! I honestly don’t think you can go wrong at the fancy biscuit just make sure you bring an empty stomach lol
Edit… I came back and ordered the fried green tomatoes again because they were that good but this time I was disappointed and I think it was somebody else cooking. The breadcrumbs instantly fell off and it was burnt. What a disappointment! I probably won’t go back there but my first experience was great and it’s nice and clean inside and smells good.

We enjoyed lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The wait wasn’t as long as we were told, which was nice. The red eye gravy was a little too heavy on the coffee flavor, but the other gravies were great. The tomato pie was delicious but the arugula was a little overdressed. My son wasn’t a fan of the grilled cheese, so that was the only thing we didn’t finish. Our server was friendly and we would definitely come back. There is a small parking lot behind the building and street parking available.
