From the moment we arrived, Luca set the tone. As owner, he’s warm, attentive, and effortlessly friendly, creating that rare feeling that you’re not just being served—you’re being welcomed into a Sicilian dining experience. His presence elevates the room without hovering, and it’s clear he leads a team that cares about details.
We started with the Prosciutto, Burrata, and Sun-Dried Pachino Tomatoes over mixed greens, and it was a perfect opening statement: silky prosciutto crudo, luxuriously fresh burrata, and sweet, concentrated tomatoes that brought brightness and balance—classic ingredient-driven simplicity executed the way you hope at a quality Sicilian restaurant.
For my main, the Tagliolini allo Scoglio was superb—homemade tagliolini with mussels, clams, shrimp, and calamari in a tomato sauce layered with garlic, parsley, a splash of white wine, and excellent extra-virgin olive oil. The seafood was cooked with precision—tender, never rubbery—and the sauce struck that ideal coastal harmony you associate with great Sicilian cooking: savory, aromatic, and clean, letting the ocean flavors shine rather than burying them.
My wife chose the Swordfish special, paired with black squid ink linguine, cherry tomatoes, and olives—a dish that felt both elegant and unmistakably Sicilian in spirit. The swordfish was beautifully prepared, and the pasta carried that subtle briny depth squid ink does so well, with the tomatoes and olives adding snap and Mediterranean richness.
To round it out, I enjoyed a glass of Nero d’Avola, a classic Sicilian red and an ideal match—dark-fruited, structured, and perfectly in step with the seafood and tomato-driven flavors.
What truly ties it all together is the service: polished, friendly, and well-timed. Everything arrived with the right spacing, requests were handled seamlessly, and the staff clearly takes pride in delivering a top-tier Sicilian dining experience.
Bottom line: The Etna Rosso Ristorante is the real deal—superb Sicilian cuisine, fantastic service, and an owner who makes you feel like family. We’ll absolutely be back, and I’d recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking for authentic Sicilian food done at a high level.
We are so happy we dined here. Food and atmosphere was incredible. Francesca sings while she works and has a great voice. Definitely will recommend this restaurant to my friends. Buon Appetito!!!
When we told the owner how much we enjoyed the experience, he responded, “I can only take 50% of the credit. I’m glad you liked our food, but the people we share it with is what makes the whole experience. Thank you for coming tonight.” I was blown away by that response. They treat their food and their customers with great care and attention as a result of this philosophy.
The gnocchi is quite simply the best I have ever had. It retains the fluffy potato texture without being rubbery or chewy, and the depth of flavors were perfect.
All the homemade pastas were impeccably made with great mouth feel to perfect doneness. We had tagliatelle, rigatoni, spaghetti… all made to perfection. The sauces were all deep in traditional Italian flavor and felt both high-end cuisine and straight from a wonderful italian grandma at the same time.
The atmosphere is great because it is small and family oriented. It gets a little loud from people enjoying great food, wine, and desserts in a smaller venue. Get reservations!!! Plenty of parking but a bit of a hidden gem. Make sure to follow your GPS to the lot in the front.
This is an instant hit and a new regular spot on our vacations here.
Service – The staff were all extremely nice and polite. However, our entrees came out while our table was still full of salad and bread plates so they disappeared back into the kitchen until the table was cleared. At the end of the meal I ordered an espresso and a port…the port came, the espresso did not. I just let it go.
Food – The Annalisa salad was delicious. My bucatini was OK but not elevated in my opinion as the price would indicate. My wife’s pesto pasta unfortunately had to be sent back and replaced because it was only lukewarm which I confirmed. A canolli for dessert was fine but again nothing special.
Pace – We were basically in and out within 50-55 minutes which felt very quick. I’ll mention though that they did not push us out but it just seemed to be normal since many tables left about the same time we did.
Other – We overheard comments from the two tables next to us that seemed to reinforce our experience. We spoke with one couple and they had been there many times and felt it was an off night. Those nights happen so we intend to give it another chance and will hopefully have a better experience.
I seldom judge a restaurant that is so highly thought of on a single visit and I don’t intend to start now. However, in a town that has so many solid Italian restaurants, it may take me a while to circle back.
Reminded me of an upscale
family restaurant in the middle of an Italian town serving the local population.
We had 4 different meals, each demonstrating the creativity of the chef. A homemade pasta bolognese, lobster ravioli, chicken saltimbocca, and scallops with a mushroom risotto… all delicious! Followed up our main menu with espresso and a celebratory ricotta cheesecake.
We plan to visit again!
Authentic, fresh, so delicious. We’ve dined here several times and every meal so far has been outstanding. Extremely nice owner and staff, this place is a gem !! Also, do not pass on the desserts!! 🙂
