I have been craving the AMAZING bruschetta that this place (as Cork and Keg) had and I heard it was just remodeled but same owners, cook etc… so I ordered the bruschetta to go and went to pick it up. Went to the bar to get it bartender was very friendly and handed me a long box (which felt very light when I picked it up). I was thanked by one of the waitresses as I walked out. My mouth has been watering for that amazing bruschetta since they reopened, so when I got to the car I opened the box and realized why it was so light. The pieces of bruschetta were literally made on the tiny little bite size crustini’s you buy at HEB. After I showed my husband what I just paid $18 ($15+tax+tip) for I popped one in my mouth (literally the whole piece was a bite), and not only were they bite size but they lacked flavor. I was SOOO disappointed I went home and made my own bruschetta and we enjoyed that. It’s a shame because we ate at Cork and Keg several times and was always delicious and love the ambiance of the old building. Unfortunately, We won’t be going back.

We had a great experience at The Emory in Waxahachie. The food was excellent from start to finish, and the service really stood out. Our waitress, Kim, did a fantastic job—friendly, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of. I had the roasted chicken, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and my husband ordered the ribeye, which was also excellent. We also had the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake for dessert, and it was amazing—the perfect way to end the meal. Everything we had was great, and we’ll definitely be back.

We went there on Mothers Day 2025. Great vibe. The manager came by and really made the night. The plate was beautiful and food delicious. They really know what they are doing when it comes to experience and taste!

It was a great find when visiting Waxahatchie. The ambiance was refined yet laid back. Everyone said hello, the server had great recommendations, and the food was fresh and drinks were tasty.

Highly recommend The Emory Bar and Kitchen to all.

This place used to be one of our favorite places in Waxahachie. When they closed down for the remodel we could not wait for them to reopen.
My favorite dish was the shrimp and grits.

However after trying them twice since they reopened. I am sad to say I will not be coming back.
Their food is just not the same. Their shrimp and grits tasted completely different almost sweet instead of spicy. Their meatloaf shrunk in size. All of their portions were much smaller.
Their $38 Ribeye was the thinnest piece of meat I have ever seen. We asked for it cooked Medium and received an extremely over cooked thin piece of meat.
The veggies were way over cooked, to the point that the asparagus and green beans were no longer green.
Whatever they did during their remodel affected the main star of the show. The food is just not worth coming back.

We made our first but not last visit here. Brought family from out of the country. We did a mixed order. The food was beyond delicious! The service was top notch, the change from the previous business helped. Love the ambience, ultimately though it was all about the food.

The food and service was good. We were a party of 8. We were hit with an automatic gratuity even though it wasn’t stated on the menu nor were we told of it. Our mistake, we should have seen it. And on a larger party it’s understandable. The problem I have is the amount – 25%, twenty-five percent. I always give 25-35% but it’s my choice. As it turns out 3 of 4 of us ended up giving 50-75% unknowingly when we didn’t catch it. I called and talked to the manager and she readily admitted they take 25% but said the server was supposed to let us know it was added. I don’t see this as an accident. The manager said she would be giving me a gift card but I guess it got lost in the mail. There are too many places to eat doing business straight forward to go back to this place. I still can’t believe 25% – gratuities in America have gotten way out of line.

First off may I say, the staff… Danny the bartender, Christie the host, and Pat the chef were all exceptional. Each one spent time with me to define my dining experience.
I ordered the ribeye (pictured below) medium rare like a cowboy should… let me tell you. I’ve lived in this town 27 years this was the BEST COOKED STEAK… I’ve ever had. Paired with the most amazing cocktails. 10/10 would recommend. Amazing service. Amazing host. Ask for Christie and Danny!
