Started with the Hot and Sour soup. To me, it seemed more like Sweet and Sour. Also had the House Chow Mein. Pretty good. Even better after I added the chili oil and hot mustard!

This place was good, a rather standard American Asian restaurant. We ate in which I don’t think anyone else has done in months. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the portions were large and served hot. The food was ok, when you’re in the mood for Chinese this is a decent option.

We bought hot and sour soup, chicken chow main and orange chicken from here and the soup was honestly some of the worst soup I have ever eaten. It was not edible at all, unfortunately we had to throw it away. The chow mein was very meh, and the orange chicken was not breaded correctly at all. It was sawgy and just plain gross. We tried this place once when we first moved here 4 years ago and I thought we should give it a try again thunking they must have just had a bad day. I will NEVER come here ever again. Those of you wondering….you’ve been warned.

All I can tell you–as an Eastern WA resident–is that the Chinese fare in the Pullman WA/Moscow ID corridor is very, very good. Every place has a secret menu; i.e., what an Asian family would order–and this menu had some good choices. I ordered what I thought was going to be traditional Ja Jang Myeon, but our server said theirs was more Chinese, than Korean. Well I’ve had both, and this place gave me a bowl of noodles/sauce that easily weighed about 6lbs, haha. I’m not kidding. The expected Black Bean Sauce was a Peanut-based thick porridge, more than likely utilizing available sauces in the walk-in cooler that had to be used or thrown out, and you will never hear this guy complain. It was delicious in a, ‘I’ve had 4-5 beers’ kinda way. Wifey’s obligatory Cashew Chicken was in my opinion, rib-stickin’. We’ve got a ton of leftovers, and will eat all of it…

The Emerald has a great potential for improvisation. I would not recommend this place, rather opt for other Chinese restaurants. The chicken was okay, Singapore noodles were decent not great.

As always a great dine in experience. Love the hot and sour soup, I wish my stomach would never get full so I could keep eating it! I love that I can make a special request of no onions and they just added extra other veggies. No upcharge or anything. They really take care in preparing the meat too. No chunks of fat or grissle on the meat. Very well prepared. You can tell these guys love what they do because it shows in the quality of the food.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!! I have always loved this place and was so excited to eat here when I came to Pullman for a visit! I LOVE their Almond Chicken!!! We had our rehearsal dinner here 26 years and it is still just as delicious!

This used to be a local favorite, offering some more authentic items on their special menu. However, it has gone WAY downhill. We tried to order several items from the menu and the waitress said that they didn’t offer those anymore because they “take too long to cook.” So, we ordered fish in hot chili oil and fried rice, both of which were very disappointing. The soup was bland and the fried rice was dry with tiny pieces of overcooked pork on top. Even the steamed rice seemed like it was not fresh.

As others have mentioned, there was nobody else there, the upholstery on the seats is falling apart, and there were absolutely no sounds coming from the kitchen (we were sitting close to it) which probably means they were just microwaving things from frozen. Oh, and did I mention that the waitress forgot to bring my drink, even though there were literally no other customers at the time? Avoid and take your money elsewhere.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Horrible experience! Food was cooked terribly. The rice was day old and hardened. sweet and sour shrimp was just fried shrimp with a dipping sauce slapped on. Fries were wet and soggy with no seasoning. When food issue was addressed and we claimed we did not want it anymore (nothing said about money) our server disappeared for 20 minutes. She obviously went back and told the “manager”, and still the manager came out asking if we’d like to go boxes after we just stated we weren’t happy with the food. The manager then decided to explain the food to us like we couldn’t see it and when we asked where our server went she immediately shut down our question and said we still have to pay full price. Paying wasn’t even the problem we were not accommodated properly and when we made concerns they were blatantly ignored. The manager was very disrespectful and kept saying how they have never had a bad review in years which couldn’t possibly be true if they served the same food we received… Very disappointing experience -10/10 rating!

Fried chicken was good cooking and good portion but little bit salty, “update”
In a receipt of $90 for 4 plates and drivingfee ,they sent me the wrong order, I don’t care about the price, the problem is that I didn’t receive what I ordered, the beef teriyaki, and what I received was something like shredded steak with no flavor.
