Staying in Portsmouth and exploring the Maine/NH area. Found this place on the Reddit threads and wanted to give it a shot since there’s very few restaurants open in the winter. We were surprised at how large the portions were (compared to other seafood spots we’ve been to) and the actual food exceeded all our expectations. Broiled scallops and cold lobster roll a must! Reggie provided awesome and friendly service too. Can’t wait to be back!!

We asked for a bar seat and originally they did not have any since they were busy but one of the people working there told us when we ordered our drinks that some seats were going to clear. I appreciated them accommodating us for that. The staff overall was great and never tried to rush us in any way.

The drinks were a bit overpriced but the drink special was nice. I got a Mai Tai and it tasted pretty strong. I got friend pickles, and onion rings and both were good. The onion rings were thin and delicate in a great tasting way. You can tell they were house made and not some bulk cisco variety. The basket was also loaded so worth the value. We did have to add salt to everything, but them having malt vinegar definitely elevated a lot of the meal as well.

The lobster was 2lbs. It was fresh and perfectly cooked. The flesh was still firm without it falling apart completely. The claw and tail was very easy to slide out in one piece. The fries were alright. The onion rings made them seem fairly mediocre.

The local beer on tap was good.

We just had dinner here tonight. Had high hopes after seeing the reviews. That hope faded fast. The drink i ordered normally comes in a rock glass but apparently the don’t have rock glasses so it came in a pint glass and because it had way too much ice it was watered down. It seemed the server threw down the chowder and it splattered on me. The chowder also seemed too watery. Maybe that’s how they make it but wasn’t what we expected. The calamari was good but there was an hair in it. I ordered the lazyman lobster which I’ve never done but after a lot of driving went for it. It’s suppose to be a 1 1/2 lb I will let the attached photo speak for itself..

We had such a great dinner at Petey’s Summertime Seafood. We grabbed a table outside and the timing couldn’t have been better—the sunset was absolutely beautiful.

We ordered the fried seafood platter and it was everything we hoped for—crispy, lightly breaded, nicely seasoned, golden, and super fresh. So good! We also tried the clam chowder, and wow… creamy, comforting, and packed with clams. Just classic New England chowder done right.

The whole vibe was laid-back and beachy, perfect for summer. Friendly service, delicious food, and a sunset view? Doesn’t get much better than that.

We heard about this place from a Uber driver in Boston and decided to make the 2 hour drive to try this place for dinner. We were not disappointed it was worth the long drive.

We ordered the Clam Bake and 3lb lobster, it was absolutely delicious. The place is cute and charming everything you would expect at a beachside restaurant.
Definitely will be going there again next time we are in the area

This is a really popular restaurant and I can see why.
There’s limited parking at the restaurant, if you’re lucky, otherwise you can park all along the road and walk in (which most people ended up doing).
It was busy when we arrived, but we got a table in the bar area fairly quickly.
So much to choose from and everyone was really happy with their choices.

Baked scallops were delicious, everything else was mehhh- bland in the seasoning on the fried food, onion rings were so skinny and falling apart. Tourists trap, and servers were RUDE & not friendly! It doesn’t hurt to be kind.

Came to get a lobster roll with some family, and also ordered a cup of clam chowder, which I had to remind the waitress of when she brought our food, (but that’s not too big of a deal, it’s a busy place). I take a bite out of the roll and immediately crunched on something hard. I’ve had plenty of seafood before to know I was biting down on shell. I pulled the piece out, and decided to try another bite. Yet again, felt a large piece of shell. This went on for a bit longer, and the pieces of shell were huge and sharp. It was to the point where there was almost more mayonnaise and shell than lobster meat. We let the waitress know that there were quite a few pieces of shell in the roll and she brought out a new one a few minutes later. The first few bites were fine, and then yet again, shell is scattered throughout the lobster roll. I couldn’t finish it, which is super disappointing considering that we paid $32 for the larger roll, and no price was discounted at all for the almost inedible meat due to how much shell was in it. It was such a bummer to come and drive two hours out of the way, just to not be able to eat a spendy lunch.
