We stopped into The Elusive Grape after dinner on a Saturday night for a bottle of wine. We sat at the bar, played cards, and enjoyed the relaxed local crowd and live music. It’s clearly a neighborhood favorite and people seemed right at home.
The space itself is a bit cluttered and quirky, with mismatched furniture that somehow works and makes it feel cozy. The multicolored string lights are a little tacky but the slightly worn look give it a casual charm, though it could use a little sprucing up. The layout is unusual but adds to its personality.
They have a solid wine selection and great service, but I do wish they’d upgrade their glassware. The thick, heavy glasses with bulbous rims take away from the wine experience. It wouldn’t take much to offer proper, restaurant-quality tulip-shaped stemware with thin glass that really lets the wine shine.
But overall, it’s a great spot for a laid-back evening with good wine and local music. We didn’t try the food.

Well, …this place has a lot of potential…there wine list does not show all they have to offer so, make sure to check the open cellar for more choices
If you are not a “member” of the Wine Club…then you will get a wine glass that may not compliment the wine you have ordered…( I like Cabernet and got a short non tapered glass… definitely not meant for a cab.)
They need to offer “mocktails”…they only have Ginger beer, diet coke, coke and club soda!! I mean like…wth!! ??
We had the Hummus appetizer and it was surprisingly good!! …
Girls behind the bar are attentive ….owner looked at me with an empty glass and went back to messing with the TV channels… seriously??
I would say probably worth a stop!

We enjoyed our first visit here. The wine recommendation was great (Malbec) and when we requested a meat free charcuterie board, they brought us a beautiful arrangement of cheeses, fruit, veggies and dips. We will definitely visit again.

The Elusive Grape is probably my favorite spot in town. I look forward to hearing what the “Dare to Pair” special will be each Wednesday and their new bottomless mimosas on Sundays are a win! The wine selection and charcuterie are the best in town. I’ve enjoyed both appetizers and meals from the kitchen and have never been let down. The staff is wonderful and seems to love working there. It truly is DeLand’s living room.

What a jewel in downtown Deland. Great comfy seating and friendly staff. The wine selection is wonderful and affordable. They have a limited menu but more than ok to enjoy with a glass or two. They have changed the seating around and looks like they added seats. Great atmosphere the strike up conversations with others. And they are dog friendly!

This place is delicious. Servers and cooks are sweet and amazing. Kinda expensive but won’t stop me from coming back.
I do have to add that the menu is kinda confusing and portions are small. We had many confusion and bland food. But the wine is the reason to come.

This place has some great hospitality some fine wines and spirits to boot the food is spectacular and they really know how to throw a party they sat out a live band and tables blocked off the street and it was a party if you are ever in Florida you must go to DeLand and visit the Elusive Grape
