The Egg Bistro is an independent locally owned neighborhood bistro that provides fresh, innovative food in a hip, family environment. Everyone on our staff is wholeheartedly committed to providing the best food and service possible. We use fresh local products throughout our menu when available, featuring vegetarian and vegan dishes. The Egg Bistro is open 7 days a week serving breakfast and lunch from open until close. We offer a full bar featuring mimosas and bloody Mary’s that have been voted the best 14 years as well as 6 local beers on tap. I just tried The Egg Bistro at Haygood for the first time. This breakfast/lunch spot is casual, cheerfully decorated and spotlessly clean. The menu is varied with something to please everyone and cocktails are available so you can have a mimosa with your brunch. The food was prepared fast, hot, and delicious with very generous portions. The prices are competitive making this choice a good value. I was most impressed by the staff. All the employees were so friendly and welcoming and I noticed how they checked on all the customers not only those at their assigned tables to see if they needed anything and make sure they were enjoying their meal. Dining at the Egg Bistro exceeded all my expectations and I will definitely be back.

I came in for breakfast early on a weekday morning and they were quite busy. I sat at the bar where Melloni helped me out… She was very pleasant and helpful, offering great service! She offered me some really nice suggestions, offered prompt service, and kept my coffee hot!
I tried their breakfast chimichanga which is a very interesting and unique breakfast entrée. And since they offered sausage gravy, I ordered a side biscuit with a small side of sausage gravy, as I enjoy trying this when it’s on a menu.
The food came out rather quickly and looked amazing! The sausage gravy was very nice, the biscuit was great. The chimichanga was excellent and HUGE!! I liked the crema on top of it, but I really liked their selection of hot sauces, with their house-made “gator sauce” being my favorite.
I definitely enjoyed this visit and would definitely return!

I got the chicken chimichanga with scramled eggs. It was sooo good and I’m realy picky. The flavors were on point. The creme on top perfect touch. Our waitress Johanna aka Jojo was really nice and did a great job. I dont live in the area just passing thru but locals should go. My only down comment is its really loud probably Because its packed. So took some stars off for atmosphere. Typical breakfast ambiance too.

We had a wonderful experience at Egg Bistro! Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, everything ran so smoothly. Our waiter, Hannah, truly stood out, she was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive the entire time. She made sure we were checked on regularly, our drinks stayed full, and that we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed.
The food was excellent , fresh, flavorful, and served surprisingly fast given how packed it was. You can really tell they care about quality and efficiency. Thanks to Hannah’s amazing service, we were able to enjoy our meal and still be in and out in no time.

Awesome place for breakfast or brunch! Quick service, good menu selection, and nice music. Our server, Red, was amazing. Upbeat, and dressed up for Valentines which I loved! Also, pretty good pricing for the food – I think our bill was around $37 after taxes for 2 meals, one of which being country fried steak. Definitely recommend!

We tried going on Valentine’s morning, but the wait was a little too long, so we came back the next day. The wait was about 25 minutes and absolutely worth it. The young lady who checked us in was super helpful and even remembered us from the day before, which was a really nice touch.
Everything came out hot and fresh, and the food was excellent. Brittany was a great waitress, friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.
Highly recommend if you’re visiting VA Beach and looking for a standout breakfast spot.

I craved a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich today (BLT) and decided to satisfy my craving at The Egg Bistro Haygood. I’m so glad that I did! My BLT was scrumptious! Everything was cooked to perfection, exactly as I had ordered from my fantastic, attentive server, David S. This breakfast made my day! I’ll definitely be back to this location of The Egg Bistro!

The food was hot and delicious. I got the shrimp and grits and my husband got the banana bread. My husband scarfed down his Ruben before I could take a picture. The drink is a caramel machiatto and was delicious!
Our waitress Amaya was sweet, attentive, and very kind. Even though we were sitting in the back she came by quickly helped us and continued to check in during our time there. Give her a raise guys!
