The Eddy is a local gastropub serving inspired comfort food and drink. We believe good food eaten in a comfortable place makes us happier people. Since opening in 2010 our intention has been to be the central gathering place for the community in and around Saxapahaw. Located off the banks of the Haw River in a refurbished textile mill, we draw inspiration from the stories and arificats of those that came before us to create a space where everyone feels welcome and can bond over local, delicious food. Whether you are out celebrating a special occasion or just need to refuel after a walk or paddle on the river we are here and ready to serve you.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my family. Venue is gorgeous, love the renovated mill.
The atmosphere was beautiful, love the pub lights and the plants. We sat inside because the patio was full.
Three food was delicious! I recommend the sourdough bread with honey butter and bang bang shrimp appetizer! I ate so much tapas I had to go with a side salad and fries (with dill ranch dressing). Everything was delicious, we plan to come back again!

Beautiful renovated old mill with rustic vibes but even better sunsets show casing the area. Staff and food were impeccable. Kid friendly and well with making reservations to sit outside on the patio. Love the menu and farm to table approach. Will definitely return. Cheers!

My first dining experience was here a few years ago, as my daughter treated me to a birthday lunch. Since it was a beautiful day, we sat outside on the patio. Trust me you’ll enjoy the view! Her recommendation for our lunch was the pimento cheese fries, chicken sliders and Tre Leches cake for dessert. It was delish! I’ve also tried the Fish and Chips and it’s my favorite! Dropped by yesterday to sit at the bar and enjoy an Apple Pie Cider before dinner. Cheers! The Eddy has a great vibe, menu and excellent service.

Grabbed dinner after checking out the Saturday at Saxapahaw event. Parking was crazy but probably not a problem on a regular night. We had reservations and got taken to our table quickly. The service was prompt and the food was very good. I had the grilled chicken which was moist and tasty with a side salad and grilled corn ribs. The salad wasn’t my favorite but the corn was very good. Overall, everyone enjoyed the food and thought the atmosphere was nice for a causal meal.

Staff Brought out 3 meals and we waited over 10 min for the rest of the order. So all of our food was cold before we could eat. Never once refilled our drinks. The chicken was very good. The eggs on the Benedict were hard boiled not poached. Asked for crispy fries they were not, at all. I would have said something but the waitress never came to check on us until she told us she was leaving for the day.

Beautiful evening at the Eddy. Sitting on the deck area was nice and the service was good. We were split on the food. The smash burger was fantastic, but the maple miso noodle salad was pretty terrible. We would probably just come back for drinks and snacks.

Great place for good quality food sourced locally. Can be crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, so reservations recommended. On nice weather days, sitting outside on the patio and watching the sun set over the river is perfect. Good selection of wines and beers, and sitting at the bar is a good option for small parties. Desserts are usually outstanding, well worth splurging on. Parking can sometimes be a challenge on nights when there is live music downstairs in the ballroom venue.

Had a birthday dinner here tonight before enjoying some live music across the road. Fantastic food and atmosphere. Many gluten free options and staff were very try helpful in confirming details about allergens and cross-contamination (they have a separate fryer for fries AND their wings appetizer!) We had a reservation for outside but ended up sitting at the bar to beat the heat. The servers at the bar were phenomenal – extremely personable and made great recommendations for both drinks and food. Would love to come back again any time!
