The Drake was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely exceptional, truly the best meal I’ve ever had in VT, and hands down the best duck and burger I’ve ever had anywhere. The service matched the cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and the personal touches were everywhere, from the décor to the homemade dressings and sauces.
We ordered a little of everything and wished we had room for more. We live over 3 hours away, and we’d make the drive again just for this meal. Chef and owner Eban was so friendly and warm, and his staff was just as wonderful — special shoutout to Fiona and Jess for making the experience unforgettable.
They also offer a thoughtful program where guests can purchase $10 gift cards for community members, which speaks volumes about their values. 11/10 recommend!

The Drake served EXCELLENT poutine and good burgers!
On our visit to Vermont we stopped at The Drake Bar and Kitchen for dinner on our first night. The Drake is a comfortable little restaurant and was somewhat busy during our visit, but we had no wait at all for a table and our service was excellent and reasonably fast.
We each ordered the Ethan Allen burger without a side and split the duck fat poutine. The burgers were cooked perfectly and had good flavor, but the star of the show on this visit was the poutine! Absolutely delicious and very well done. Of all the food we consumed in Vermont, this was the star of the show on this trip!
Price was a smidge on the higher side on our visit, but we did each order one of the more expensive burgers and alcohol. It is worth noting a side of fries to go with your Burger or sandwich will set you back $5. I feel this is a bit on the high side for a side of fries, but I also cannot speak to the volume of fries that gets you and won’t ding my review for something I didn’t order.
Overall, The Drake was an excellent experience and I could see us vstopping by again if we are ever back on the area!

Great restaurant. I would definitely eat here again! The Ethan Allen Burger was very good. The Truffle Fries were really good. The Poutine Fries were very good! Service was decent and atmosphere was OK. If you are in the area, stop here and eat. The tap water is full flavor (tasted like minerals), so drink a beer!

I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate a friend’s birthday…I had never been to The Drake, and decided to give it a try based on its ratings. It was wonderful! The little bistro table we were given was charming and next to the bar area, which was fun and full of the same ambience as the rest of the restaurant. The Show Girl Spritzer was the specialty cocktail of the evening (a little nod to Swifties!); it was delicious! The butternut squash poutine was amazing, as was the bean and goat burger! We will definitely return and recommend!

We were passing through and chose The Drake Bar and Kitchen for their reviews… and it definitely lived up to their ratings and exceeded our expectations! The staff were all incredible, especially Amanda. They even seated us near closing time with no hesitation. They never made us feel rushed and ensured we had the greatest experience. Their cocktails were perfect and beautifully crafted. We enjoyed the butternut squash soup special, the crispy fries, the pork schnitzel special, and the tacos… and it was all amazing! Their vegetarian options were great and their flexibility to make menu options vegan was also great. Above all, the people here deserve to be recognized for their genuineness, professionalism, hospitality, and just flat out kindness. The Drake Bar and Kitchen goes beyond great food and atmosphere. We highly recommend!

This place is clearly well loved by the local crowd. My partner and I both agreed the service was amazing – very friendly and the great balance of attentiveness without hovering.
The decor is…interesting, seems like it was a very “homemade” endeavor remodeling the inside space, but it’s comfortable enough. There is very little seating, so reservations are encouraged, but there seems to be a lot of open central space that could be more efficiently utilized.
The food was good. We had the poutine, a burger and the chicken sandwich. The poutine was good, little more but no less, I love poutine and this did the trick. I liked the style of the fries but for me personally the liberal dose of black pepper on them is overwhelming. The burger was nicely topped but fully overcooked when I asked for medium. It was still tasty and I was so hungry it wasn’t worth troubling to send it back, but something to note. The chicken sandwich was just okay. I personally love a crispy crunchy batter and this was not, but the flavor was decent. The special lilac lemonde was my favorite part!
The check was very reasonable. I know a big part of their draw is their cocktails which looked amazing but we did not partake. I especially appreciated the wide variety of mocktails included on the menu, lots of creative options! I’d go back again to try some of their other offerings, yes, but for a real wow me meal, I’d still make the trip to a Burlington option.

To say that the food is amazing would be an understatement. This is our 5th or 6th visit to this place and they NAIL it EVERY TIME! I tell my fiancé every time we go “this is definitely my favorite restaurant….dang…I haven’t had one of those in a long time” and it’s true. It’s surprisingly difficult to find a restaurant that not only consistently performs at their best, but that also shares the same values that I do. They SUPPORT LOCALS! They handpick ingredients based on what is in season and their meat comes from local farms. I’m utterly obsessed. Their pricing is on point. You will spend the same if not more at Olive Garden…and guarantee you will leave there broke and unhappy. At the Drake…we leave there feeling full, but not bloated and like we just made the best investment of our lives. Just….go there…okay. And make sure you stay for dessert. Thank you for listening.

I bought one of each and they were great!
I ordered in the morning so they were not fresh, but I can only imagine. The fries were amazing as well and still good after being cooked earlier. I ate most of them plain and no ketchup.
I have never ordered that far in advance to a place, but it worked without a hitch. Definitely doing it again and excited for their Mock Cocktails
I’ll probably stop by for one tonight after a swim.
Plenty of parking and there is a great juice, nail, and Italian right next door, but they have their own niche.

What a wonderful meal!! We started with delicious and wonderfully served mocktails and then the special appetizers and salads. Everything tasted great with very timely service. Excellent downtown location and lovely town square to walk around and shop. A lot of vegan and gluten free offerings with the bonus of using local products. Yum!!
