The burger was good but their “garlic Parmesan” fries are literally piled with a huge amount of minced garlic with a small amount of shredded Parmesan mixed in??? It was not good. Thankfully most of it could be scraped off, the fries themselves were really good to be fair.
I don’t need to spend my money here, their food, service, and beer selection is not worth the pricing. Weird name to have such a bad attitude towards dog-owner patronage.
For the business owner, bartenders shift at 12:30p on 2/12.
At first he made us the best margaritas we’ve ever had, then another few, but then things took a turn for the worse.
We respectfully asked for extra alcohol in our 3rd drinks and he told us, “You can get a double if you want.” Now, I had tipped him last week so I was like, “Huh?” Then I called him a word that really didn’t even apply to him, so I dont know what the big deal was. I also ACCIDENTALLY bumped into the silverware shelf too.
But “Kiger” doesn’t understand mistakes, apperently he’s perfect. And hear this, him telling me what to order reminded me of my last boss, who was ALWAYS telling me what to do. Look, if I’m paying $4 for a hand crafted cocktail, then I should be allowed to decide how much alcohol goes in it, PERIOD!!!!!
Like, are you kidding me!?!?!? It was rude. And gross. And demeaning. He made me feel poor.
So, we had some words with each other. He made some great points during our interaction, but I was right, for sure. Once everyone stopped yelling we eventually got our drinks… and overpaid. They were pretty darn good, I’ll tell you that right now. But the whole thing still kinda sucked. My uncle was in the military and it kind of reminded me of that.
The night went on, yet I couldn’t help thinking about “Kiger.” The thought of his unprofessionalism turned in my head like two marbles going round and round and round yet again in a funnel until the truth inevitably popped out the bottom and hit me right between the eyes: this place blows.
This also reminded me of my uncle’s experience in the war.
And just like my uncle all those years ago, I was triggered.
Needless to say, my friends and I decided to leave and go to Lupe’s, but apparently they went out of business, so we went home…
After an hour we got bored decided to go back to The Downward Dog, but “Kiger” wouldn’t let me in because I allegedly “scratched” him during our previous conversation.
People in the service industry used to care about customer service. Now all they seem to care about is not getting “scratched,” or whether or not they were legally assaulted, or overserving people.
Downward Dog sucks.
I did not scratch Kiger.
They also have an elk head on the wall that I was not warned about and it freaked out my real service dog and he bit me.
Good burgers and tots, fantastic cocktails, bad service.
Incredibly rude staff that does not want to do their job. The staff I delt with had me thinking there was a problem with the phone when I was trying to place an order to pick up and only in hindsight did I realize they were picking up only to hang up without saying anything. When they did actually say something it was to tell me to stop calling. I do not recommend at all and they will not be receiving my business and I will be sure to let everyone I know how rude they were and that they don’t want actual business.
