The Dock on Wallenpaupack features a combination of water-inspired foods and culinary twists on vintage classic dishes that would have been prominent when Baby Boomers were kids – comfort foods such as soups, snacks, salads, sandwiches, and light entrees. Many of our menu items include seafood dishes as well as grilled steaks and other classic dishes. There’s something for everyone at the Dock on Wallenpaupack, and unlike other Hawley, PA restaurants, we have an extensive list of signature cocktails and a wine list for guests to choose from. During the spring and summer months, enjoy a fresh-cooked meal on our Deck while enjoying the expansive scenic view of the lake or while listening to some live entertainment.

Keep in mind when you come to this place: you have to be fully dressed, even though it’s right on the beach. Adults in our group were fine, but the kids only had long-sleeve sun shirts and no shorts. There was no sign anywhere saying that a dress code was required, and it almost turned into a conflict when they wanted to turn us away. Thankfully, we managed to cover the kids’ legs with our own shirts, but it definitely should be posted clearly for guests – especially at a beachside spot.
As for the service, the staff were young and worked fine overall, though the food took a long time to arrive. The cocktails were great – strong, well-made, and not watered down. But the food itself was disappointing. I’d give it a 3 out of 5. The seafood dishes, like the shrimp tacos, didn’t really taste like shrimp tacos at all – more like kimchi and onions with a bitter aftertaste. The seafood seemed over-marinated and overcooked, so you couldn’t taste its natural flavor, even in the poke bowl. Whether it was the quality of the ingredients or the way they were prepared, the dishes just felt soulless and bland.
Overall, I’d rate the place a 4 because of the atmosphere and cocktails, but the food really needs improvement. Not sure if we’d come back.

So I’ll explain my rating. The food I rated a four only because the desserts were only pies. Pumpkin, Apple and Pecan I believe. I’m not a pie person and would of loved something other than pie. But the main course was absolutely delicious and tasted just like home!!
The service could use more wait staff. Our particular server was non existent and we needed to ask others walking by just for a refresher on our drinks.
The atmosphere was absolutely perfect! I really enjoyed my thanksgiving at the Dock on Wallenpaupak with the exception of a few minor things.

Food is very good here and there is a nice view too. I just feel like a steak meal should come with a small salad, or bread for the table. I guess that’s gone the way of the dodo in most restaurants. Oh well……with that being said, this is a very nice place to have a meal. I’ll be back.

My experience at Dock on Wallenpaupack was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who made us feel so welcome. The restaurant itself is spotless, and the beautiful views of the lake are simply breathtaking – the perfect backdrop for a meal. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was expertly prepared and full of flavor. Combined with the excellent service, Dock on Wallenpaupack truly offers a top-notch dining experience. Highly recommend!

Do not go here under any circumstances. I got the feeling everyone was trying their best but oh boy they need help. Despite the restaurant being empty we were quoted a long wait, before we could even answer they said “a lot of our cooks called out”. We waited and I regret every bit of it. It’s resort priced food, paying 18$ for a 12 piece of boneless chicken bites I can accept but they weren’t even hot and it only gets worse from here. We order chips and the spinach dip. Maybe 3-4 of the chips had seasoning on them but the rest were completely plain. Didn’t even have salt. We asked for salt and we had to ask 4 people before they could even find a salt shaker, which they took by asking someone else if they were done with it. Does this place not have enough salt shakers? We also order a tuna bowl which came out rancid. We immediately returned it which they accepted and did not charge us for, to their credit. Looking around, the place was not very well kept. The ceiling and light fixtures were covered in cobwebs, felt very gross even trying to eat under them.

Relaxed environment on the water. The “outdoor deck” is screened in, so I opt for inside seating by the large window.
Parking can be confusing, but it is across from the restaurant but plenty of space.
Got a clam strips and chips with a local beer came out to about $40. But you pay for location and atmosphere. Great date spot.

First time in, and definitely will be back. Can’t stop at a lakeside restaurant without trying their homemade fish and chips. Crispy outside coating, with flaky and soft fish inside. Amazing

My husband and I always stop here to eat when we come to Hawley for our anniversary,
and we always enjoy the food. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and we enjoy sitting at a table overlooking the beautiful lake. I would highly recommend visiting Dock for your next meal! Jamie is excellent and was so kind, warm, and friendly to us. It was like we had known each other for years after just one visit!

We had a wonderful time there, we stopped in for our anniversary dinner. Service was nothing less than exceptional. Great menu and our entrees came out for us in record time. We’ve both recommended The Dock to those in our circle of friends. So hope this review help’s to increase their customer base. We set with a view of the lake, it was romantic and cozy. Our waitress was very friendly and outgoing.
If your in the area highly recommend you give them a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
