It’s been a very long time since I visited The Distillate on Mt. Hope and I am glad I did.
It’s such a cozy little spot, just north of College town across from the cemetery.
They have a nice menu loaded with tasty bar fare and some great dinner options as well. The bartender was a very nice lady and took great care of us. The Nachos were a perfect plate to share, I recommend adding chicken for only a dollar more. Crunchy chips, gooey cheese and a very nice flavor. They went well with some beer and Jameson!
I will definitely be back again

I’ve eaten here before and really enjoyed it, but unfortunately my recent take-out order was a big letdown. I got the same quesadilla I’ve ordered before — when I dined in, it was packed with ingredients, flavorful, and came with great service (they even gave me extra sour cream!).

This time though, it was completely different. The quesadilla was really thin and barely had any filling — I only tasted a bit of cheese and peppers, and there were no tomatoes even though they’re supposed to be included. Half the time I was just eating the bread because it was so skimpy on ingredients.

I usually ask for no peppers, but forgot this time, and honestly I’m glad I didn’t, otherwise my meal would’ve consisted of bread with a side of cheese. I was really disappointed — it felt careless to serve something so skimpy, especially when I’ve had such a great meal here before. Getting what was basically bread with a sprinkle of cheese for full price makes me think management might need to take a closer look at consistency and quality control.

I was supposed to meet some coworkers at this establishment, but soon found out it was somewhere else, but hung out for a couple beers anyway. I also had to order some food. That I already had to picked out. I wasn’t leaving until ordered food to go. I’m glad I did the food was phenomenal!! The black beans and rice are to die for. Best I’ve ever had!! I’ve been to the Victor location a couple of times and I’ve been telling everyone that the location on Mt Hope is so much better!! I will frequent again with others. I have no photos to share. I wish I did. Probably next time. I added some photos, because I went there again. Also Steve the bartender/ server was awesome. He’s been there Everytime I’ve gone.

Food was OK. French onion soup at or below average. We both had the fish fry, as we were in town on a Friday. Meh. Their in-house scotch ale tasted a little flat. The IPA was good, tho. Side salad was definitely a step above others we’ve had.

The food was attrocius. $25 for blackened Alfredo shrimp + 15$ in deliver fees and tips and this is what they sent me. The noodles are PLAIN & DRY NO SEASONING IN SIGHT. The blackened chicken is literally just burnt chicken with the only distinct flavor being “spicey” for a 25$ plate I imaged it would be better than Pizza Hut pasta, but Pizza Hut pasta would never be this disappointing

I got to admit first approach wasn’t in my best interest. But I was giving it a try. Walking in to this place it was very friendly and place seem very casual. Our waitress Name Becca was a very polite and friendly person. She was very aware and made sure we was good at all times. Food was good, Also She made my dad a very good drink and for him to be convinced needs a lot. So that can just tell you how good she was. Definitely highly recommended.

I really enjoyed the ambience and some of the stuff that they had on the TV so it’s very interesting. The food was amazing. The hospitality was superb. I wish I wasn’t around a bunch of people talking and was more secluded, but the food was good enough to overcome that frustration had to remind myself. I was at a bar.

This was a nice spot to grab a bite after the lilac festival, or just if you’re in the area. There’s a nice selection of bar food. I had the wings, they were cooked nicely and juicy, though despite being buffalo garlic flavor, they didn’t have any heat at all. Mom got the shrimp appetizer and loved it, it looked great. I got a side of fries for us to split. I don’t know why I ordered a margarita in a beer spot, I did this to myself. I enjoy beer, I should’ve had one. I got excited about reading from the menu they had tajin on the rim of my margarita (many Mexican spots will have this), so I ordered that. It’s a jalapeño one but it was so tangy or sour. Not the tajin, just the drink itself. Next time, I’ll get a beer, I’ve learned my lesson.

The women’s restroom is on the second floor, men’s is on the first floor. If you’re a lady and have a disability, call ahead, they may have an accessible one, or not, I’m not sure. For anyone that this may be a concern for, I’d recommend calling ahead to inquire. The inside of this place by the bar was pretty, the ceilings were vaulted and wooden, the have a little train that goes around but up high above the bar, much like Wegmans does, or at least some locations. It looks nice and definitely a great spot to catch a game. There were televisions all around the oval shaped central bar, but also at each table which is great.
