Well… Where do I start? We spent the night at the casino and don’t really care for their on site food choices. So I Googled breakfast restaurants near me. First one up was The Diner with a 4.5 star review. I read the reviews and we decided to check it out. After Googling the directions and following them, we though there was no way we were going the right direction, north out of town on old 27. But… There it was ahead. We both said if it’s a dive or the parking lot is empty we’re turning around. We’ll it wasn’t a dive, and the lot was full. So we decided to stay, and we are very glad we did. Very down home inside. Nothing fancy. Very clean. Greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Our waitress(yes I said waitress, not server) came to our table, dropped menus, and got our drink order. We looked over the menu and made our breakfast choice. Hers off the grill pecan pancakes, eggs bacon, hash browns and toast. Mine the breakfast burrito with bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs, cheese covered in country gravy. When our meals came, we couldn’t believe the amount of food. Two plates to bring her food, and my burrito was the full size of the dish. Needless to say the taste of both of our breakfasts were awesome! We both were lucky to get through half of our meals before we asked for togo boxes. For both meals with coffee and tax was right around $40. We will DEFINITELY return to try out other menu items. FYI !! THEY ARE CASH OR LOCAL CHECK ONLY. So plan ahead, or use the ATM machine in the back of the shop! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Diner, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience! The food was nothing short of excellent—each dish was delicious and truly worth the trip. You can taste the care and attention that goes into every meal.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring our needs were met without being intrusive. Their warm hospitality added to the cozy atmosphere of this quaint little gem.
The Diner stands out as a charming alternative to the name-brand restaurants in town. If you’re looking for a delightful dining experience away from the hustle and bustle of the main roads, this is the place to go. Without a doubt, The Diner is worth the detour, and I can’t wait to return!

Small town diner vibe with great potions, and a large variety of homemade meals to choose from. I’ve tried them twice and both times I’ve been very impressed.

My wife and I stopped in to try The Diner. She had the meat of choice/bacon while I had the meaty omelette both had sourdough toast. Overall the food was good my hash browns could have had been warmer, but they had a great crunch not soft. I’ve heard many good things about their food and will give their fish a try in the near future.

Can’t go wrong with a classic dinner out of town. I had their breakfast burrito and it A LOT of pig, however, it was very tasty. When the waitress came with it she told me it usually came with more sausage gravy, so if you love sausage gravy this is the place to be. They only accept cash which adds even more to the atmosphere.

Small but vibrant restaurant conveniently located just north of Mt. Pleasant on Mission Rd. There’s plenty of parking. The wait staff are friendly. The food is delicious and served in big portions. Be aware: they don’t accept cards. Pay with cash or local checks. There’s an ATM machine in the back.

My mother and I tried this place for the first time recently. We loved the food! It was awesome and priced perfectly. You can tell this place has their regulars too.
Not practical for me to come here since I never have cash and they don’t take card. The atm fee kinda ruined it for me.

What a fantastic little diner. Food and service were both wonderful. Clam basket was a very generous serving and the coleslaw was yum!! Mexican eggs Benedict (special) was so creative and delicious.

Not impressed, we’ll NOT go back, real small so it was very noisy. Fish was mediocre at best, perch was better than the walleye though, all the fish was very greasy. My husband was up all night with indigestion from the fish. The marinated chicken did not taste marinated at all. Coleslaw n rolls were store bought, looked like Gordon Food Service. Food very bland. Baked potato n fries were good. Friendly and prompt service.
