Had reservations and were seated immediately. Feels like an old pub in England sort of. Has a coastal sea vibe. Very cozy feeling. Took awhile to get a waiter, and he was a little slow in general, however he was extremely friendly and had great suggestions and had been working there for 64 years. The brown palace in general has a more laid back feel with service and mostly it’s just me who probably was impatient instead of enjoying the moment. It was overall a wonderful experience. Martini is a heavy poor, have some beers on tap, duck fries were fire!!! Fish was fresh. Oysters were delightful and worth the price, and the flat iron was cooked perfectly. It felt like a clean place. And the food was dressed up for a pub like atmosphere. Perfect ambience for me. Doesn’t feel fancy but produces quality items. Overall a little pricey. However seafood in Denver is difficult to get and to cook right. We will be back for sure!

One of the BEST experinces in Downtown! Forgot I was deep in the city. Beautiful. Historic. Caught an amazing jazz band Saturday night! Cozy & Quaint. Them chairs… I could sit there all night! Staff – On point. Didn’t miss a beat. The small tavern feel was so refreshing. Food absolutely amazing. I will say their menu is seasonal – as you may not see everything the online menu shows, but easy to adapt. Delicious. The Bartender. Bravissimo

*Parking – street parking is a gamble, but a block away is a secure parking garage $8 on the weekends. *There is valet as well.

The Ships Tavern at Brown Palace is the place to enjoy a cocktail. The bartender, Kyle, was professional, welcoming and knowledgeable about cocktails and recommendations. The cocktail menu has a fantastic selection and the ambiance is like no other. You are stepping into a historic Tavern. Try the Old Fashion cocktail or a glass of Italian prosecco. You will not be disappointed.

Went to this place with a few friends. The service was really good and she was very nice. They have a nice bar here and the atmosphere is pretty cool. With four separate meals the best thing to eat was the chopped salad.

Went for lunch and enjoyed every minute of our experience. The decor, atmosphere, and food were excellent. The bartender, Caleb L. Was on point. He was slammed but made sure every patron seated at the bar was well taken care of. Highly recommended.

My mom and I came here to celebrate thanksgiving. We wanted to come here because we went with my dad many years ago but he has passed. We wanted to do something special since it’s been 5 years with him gone. But it was terrible. The food was delicious but our server was one of the worst waiters I’ve ever had. If u get the waiter in these photos ask for someone else because he will probably forget about you. His name is James. It took over 20 minutes to get a drink and there are several empty tables so what is the excuse? He doesn’t come back. When we were trying to get the check he was no where to be found. I genuinely didn’t think he would come back. This is one of the WORST EXPERIENCES EVER. And this bill was not cheap. I will not be back here and will definitely not be recommending to anyone else. If this is the type of service they provide I suggest u stay far away. This is a warning to not come to the ships tavern EVER. There is a reason there is no one here.

Tonight was such a disappointment. The server ignored us for over 30 minutes. This was the third time we came for my moms birthday. All the other experiences have been wonderful. They have always acknowledged her birthday and brought her a special gf dessert. This server ignored us. Never offered dessert. He ditched us so bad that the host brought us our check. I don’t know how many more birthdays I get to share with my mom, so it makes me sad that we were treated so poorly. We always leave a 30% gratuity. We left exactly 10% hoping it sent a message that the experience was really bad. Of course my mom wants to try again next year. I will do my best to make sure she has a better birthday dinner. Thank you to the water server who was really nice and personable. I wish he had taken care of us.

The food was phenomenal! The service could have been much better, especially considering the location and price. Forgetting drinks, not getting the order right on a 2 person table, etc are just things you would think this place would be better than. It’s a 5 star location, 5 star food, but 2 star service.

I wish there was a 4+ (because I never give 5 stars, but this one is 4.9999999999…) I thought it was too fancy of a place for the likes of me, but once i got past the main hall and into the pub it was an excellent warm atmosphere, much brighter than expected/wanted (YMMV).

The food was amazing, and drink choices much better than expected. While I went in with a list of my go-to items for lunch, a brief conversation with the bartender on the options and I was like “oh, heck, sure, when in Rome”. I was not disappointed… in fact, very satisfied with the selections. I recommend, highly; go in with a blank slate and hearty appetite – i had to get a doggie bag, LOL.

I also never do these reviews, so I guess that’s saying something.

A bit of a unique menu, but food was delicious and the history of the location adds to the ambulance.
