Today we had brunch, my husband had steak & eggs while I had the French toast. Hands down the best French toast I’ve ever had. Thick slices, soft, fluffy, infused with flavor in every bite! Steak & eggs were delicious as well.
We love Desert Spoon for the high quality, homemade food, but also for the amazing ambiance and attention to detail. The restaurant and grounds are gorgeous. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Restaurant is so clean- they sanitize tables and the chairs after every customer. The music playing in background is not overpowering; it’s there but not so loud that you can’t have a conversation. It’s is just a lovely experience every time.

We made reservations for the Valentine’s 4 course menu and had the most wonderful time! We had patio seating next to the heater, which allowed us to take in the fields and stars all around. Being one of the late reservations, we had the luck of being the last served our steak and lobster, which left us 1 lobster tail short. Couldn’t have happened to a better couple though because I happen to not like seafood! The owner came out to make things right, gave us a HUGE bouquet of flowers, and was so kind! We assured him that the meal was spectacular and we had a wonderful experience.
We feel very lucky to have gotten to have such a special night together. They did also give my husband some shrimp to make up for the missing 2nd lobster tail which he says was the best part of the meal. 10/10 would dine here under the stars again.

From start to finish the atmosphere and ambiance that Trever and Merritt have created in their restaurant is a true hidden gem of the hill country. We took recommendations from the staff, both our server Manny and our friend Issac did not disappoint us. The Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini was the best I’ve ever had, wasn’t over powering in flavor but the perfect blend of spices. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary one for the books, with everything from helping with flowers and playing the song I walked down the aisle too, it was movie magic made into real life. I will recommend this place for years to come. Thank you Desert Spoon

From start to finish, most amazing experience for brunch. Trevor, our waiter always made sure we were alright. My wife had the French Toast which was about the size of half a loaf of bread. I had the Ranch Hand breakfast. For a $25 plate, the steak was mouth-watering amazing. Greatly portioned with two eggs, potatoes, and sour dough toast. We can’t wait to come back for dinner!

Great service from Eric and amazing food. Highly recommend trying the fish tacos, but I’ll be back to try other brunch options! Awesome vibes and the owner / operator even stopped by to say hi. Good stuff!

Desert Spoon is a Great addition to Spring Creek Gardens. The amazing menu, in addition to warm atmosphere, friendly, and attentive staff makes this venue a must for those wanting a relaxing enjoyable dinning experience. For starters we chose Spring Creek Humas and my wife the Roasted Beet Salad. The main dish for me was the Braised Lamb Shank and my wife Red Fish. We shared Cacio e Pepe French Fries and Roasted Carrots. For the sweet tooths we had the Roasted Rum Pineapple and Chocolate Cake.
Throught the meal we shared and tried each other’s choices. Each of the dishes presentation were very appealing tasting wonderfully delicious!!!
We end the evening with lattes and coffee relaxing not worrying about being in a rush. It truly was a full dining experience! Many thanks to the Desert Spoon Staff. See ya again for my birthday .

Absolutely in love with this Restaraunt! There truly is nothing else like it in the area. The food is absolutely amazing and clearly has been artfully thought through and executed. As someone who values healthy foods and avoids seed oils in my diet, this is one of the only places I’ve found with lots of options for me! My husband and I have been here numerous times since they opened and have yet to have a bad experience— each time the food and service was top notch! The patio space is our favorite and still feels cool even in the Texas heat. Today we had Easter Brunch there and really appreciated the attention to detail they had with the beautiful floral arrangements. We will continue to be regulars here for sure!

Yesterday, my sister and I found this restaurant along the 281 while looking for a basic small town cafe’ for brunch. The Desert Spoon showed up on our Google Map search and made a U turn and drove less than a quarter mile to find Spring Creek Nursery. The restaurant is situated on the grounds with views of the gardens and the wide open hill country. We chose to sit on the porch. It was breezy out there but did not interfere with our meal. Manny was our server and he explained the menu, shared a bit about the restaurant and its start and some of the events held on this property. Sis and I ordered our meals, were served timely and portion sizes were not what we expected! Generous is what I say. Sis ordered The Trev which is bacon scrambled eggs, potatoes. I ordered the Breakfast Croissant. The potato wedges were plentiful, hot, and cooked to perfection. We ate while looking out across the gardens, the vast acreage to the West. I can imagine what this place does in the evening at sunset. Manny told us! They’ve held many an event here and there is more on the calendar. The team in the kitchen knows something about creating a delicious menu and based on what I’ve read in local publications, Tatu Herrera, Monroe Payne and Issac Payne are the creators of a delightful dining experience. The restaurant itself is a large open room with large windows. We take annual trips to San Antonio for state band contests and I will surely stop by the Desert Spoon again, but hopefully sooner than later!

The Desert Spoon had its grand opening today, and I’m already obsessed! The food was absolutely AMAZING—every bite was packed with flavor. The craft cocktails were so well made, and the service was just as impressive.
Huge shoutout to Patrick, the bartender, who made the night even better with his great energy and spot-on drink recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

My mom and I went in to try today . The restaurant itself is very nice . Our waiter today was Wylie and he was great . I ordered the fish tacos and my mom the breakfast sandwich . Food service was very slow and my fish waa so over cooked that it waa hard to even try to cut it with the butter knife . You may wonder ok fish tacos why were you trying to cut . The fish was a very small piece so I was trying to cut it in half so the whole corn tortilla would have fish . It’s was mostly cut red cabbage. The waiter took it back and asked if I wanted something else . It took so long the first time to get the food I didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes so I ordered the avocado tomato toast…. figured pretty quick and easy . It.came.out and the toast was burnt. I tried to eat it anyway but it just had zero flavor . My mom said her food waa good a n d I did try her fries . The fries were homestyle and they were pretty good .
