Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The place is an old train depot station and very cool. It is directly across from the river and it was a beautiful day to be sitting outside on the patio. Very limited menu but homemade and very good. Service was scattered, but the ladies were very nice and always followed up with us, eventually. Not terrible. Prices are very good and beautiful area.

We had a nice time. The location of this bar makes it… right on the Mississippi. The prices are about as cheap as you could find anywhere ($4 for a 16oz tap or bottle), the owner was pleasant and very nice. The place just has a cool vibe as an old train depot. Plus, trains will go by 5 feet away from you! We weren’t able to wait around to see that but it must be pretty cool.

We are in town for our 25th wedding anniversary and noticed this place down by the river after dinner in town. Very cool place with a lot of history. Wish I’d known it was there sooner because we would have had dinner there. The lady served us( who also the owner) was awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the place and surrounding buildings. Definitely worth the stop, will be back!
Also prices are very reasonable especially for these times.

We dropped in for a quick lunch with some new friends from Iowa. We had the cod fish sandwich and French fries. The bun was buttered and toasted, the fish light and tasty. Serving of fries good sized and crispy on the outside. Also had the bluegill and catfish cheeks – excellent. Good assortment of entrees for a bar & grill. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice location by the river.

We stopped here for lunch during our drive on this nice fall day. We sat outside on the patio with a view of the Mississippi River. Very nice. They do have indoor seating as well and the restaurant is clean and very cool inside. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. We both were happy with our food and the service we had. We will be back.

This place was really really cool. I tried the breaded cod sandwich with potato salad. I could eat that everyday and be happy about it! The history of the place is really cool too and I enjoyed looking at all of the pictures throught the building. The view of the river is fantastic. There are carriage rides that pickup right by here as well to give a tour of the island with more information. I highly recommend stopping here. The bartender was so sweet and the drinks were great. I can’t wait to go back!

Situated in a beautiful location by the Mississippi River across the road and over the tracks from Lawler Park. Stop in and have a cold beverage and maybe a bite to eat. The four ladies that were in there will make you feel very welcome and will take excellent care of you. The full bar will have whatever it takes to quench your thirst. The burgers aren’t to bad either. Try the fried Catfish Cheeks, you dont see those one a menu everywhere you go.

We had a great time having drinks and a nice casual dinner! Dawn just re-opened today after the river flooding at the park. We just happened to go see the flooding on the island and saw Dawn outside of her building and she invited us in. We enjoyed visiting with her and loved the historic building too so we came back for dinner. We Highly recommend it!

Walked in and sat at the bar. Place was moderately busy, but not all tables full. Waited 15 minutes seated at the bar, nobody came to the front so we left. Looked like they need help which explains the “help wanted” sign.
Might try another time we visit town.
