New deli in town — while the decor and menu presentation could use a little improvement, the service and food were both wonderful! I ordered the #10 Philly steak with Wiz, peppers, and onions. Definitely a great cheesesteak — flavorful, juicy, and satisfying. Next time, I’d love to try one of their cold cut sandwiches. There’s plenty of seating inside, plus some nice outdoor tables if you’d rather enjoy your meal in the fresh air.

Went to the extended soft opening of The Deli with a friend today.
The staff were friendly and attentive, like they actually wanted to be there.
The Spicy Italian sandwich was what I was after. No mods, just straight off the menu.
It was huge. I could have probably eaten half and saved the other half but what kind of man does that?
Nah, I ate it all, and it was delicious.
Staff asked several times if they could refill our drinks.
The owner popped by the table and chatted for a few. Super nice guy that I’ve had the opportunity to work with on several projects, so it’s always nice to catch up when he has time.
There’s plenty of parking.
Obviously, they are still perfecting everything, but from my perspective it was about perfect.
One complaint I saw online was “I can get a sandwich at Publix for half”. Uhmmm… I’ve had those sandwiches and while they will certainly do in a pinch, those are not these.
Also, my food was ready faster than I could have parked and walked into Publix.
Did I mention this sandwich was huge? You seriously could slippery split one with your friend, if you were so inclined 🙂

We tried the Deli at 1885 Taproom this week and it was very good and the service was wonderful. My husband and I split the Reuben and the cheesesteak. They’re obviously brand new, and this was a soft opening, so I’m sure they’re still trying to wrinkle out some things but some feed back I have:
Value for the price 3.5/5 — I cannot give 5 stars. For the amount of meat on the cheesesteak compared to cost, I was less than impressed. It was more bread than meat. A competitor in the area serves more meat for less the cost. I can also go to Publix and get a Boar’s head Italian sub for $8.99-$10.99 and here it is $18.95!!!
Flavor 10/10 — everything tasted delicious
Quality 8/10 — food came out very fast and presentation was great! Reuben needs some work. The flavor was there and the presentation was amazing, however the bread got soggy quickly and started falling apart. Might be beneficial to toast the bread. Other side options besides chips would be great in the future.

Drink selection 10/10 lots to choose from. Loved that they carried liquid death beverages!
Service 10/10 — the 3 ladies working were very attentive and welcoming.

This deli sandwich shop is exactly what Simpsonville was missing. The amount of meat in the sandwich was plentiful. A had sandwich would have been plenty for me. I had the spicy italian.
