Very disappointed, you’d think ordering a steak here they would cook it to the right temp. They didn’t even get it close, by time we were checked on again and offered a refire. Which I am honesty not a fan of for many reasons. My son had already finished eating. So I’d requested boxes and to speak with a manager. After the manager admitted they did not even get it close to medium, but it was a perfect rare. Which I had not ordered due to my inability to eat a rare steak because of my dentures. His reasoning was because sometimes when they get an evening rush this kinda thing happens. This was not a satisfactory response for me. If you are going to charge me $35 dollars for a steak, there is no reason why it should not be cooked correctly! We drove up from Ormond Beach hungry and I left feeling tha same way. Just 70$ less in my pocket. :-/ ha

This place is a vibe! Feels like home and the food is fresh and delicious. Our choice for steak dinners in the area. You feel like your eating at your grandma’s house here. Lots of kid’s options all for 6.50 a meal. Service is great and everyone seems to work together, which makes your experience even smoother when they are packed full! Definitely a must try and great for celebrating anything.

Not a good first impression for this place. Arrived for lunch around noon on a Sunday, and upon entry there was no one at the hostess stand. After waiting for around 5 min the hostess showed up and sat me. I sat at the bar, and my server seemed overwhelmed and depressed, like the modern world had broken her once youthful spirit. She was distant and not very pleasant. It took around 30-35 min for my food to come out, despite the restaurant not appearing super busy. I ordered a medium rare 11oz filet, with twice baked potato and creamed spinach. The steak was way over, somewhere between medium and medium well, and not particularly tender. The creamed spinach, which was served to me barely warmer than room temp, was very bland, and tasted pretty similar to frozen creamed spinach. The twice baked potato had a small amount of the actual twice baked filling, as most of the potato was literally just plain baked potato. To add insult to injury they tack on a bonus fee for those of us who pay with card. Unfriendly service, slow kitchen, mediocre food, and hidden fees. Bummer.

This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem. Everything about it was fantastic. The restaurant is located in a over 100-year-old building. When we walk through the door we were created by the owner Brian who stayed moving the whole time we were there. I got the bone in ribeye special. It was definitely one of the best steaks I have had in ages. The service and the food delivery was prompt. My dream did not reach the halfway mark one time throughout the meal. Upon our exit we discovered a beautiful outdoor seating area. Absolutely charming. They had a gentleman playing live music that definitely set the mood. I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone. If it’s just yourself or you have 50 friends with you. They can accommodate all of your needs

Amazing find in Deland, food and service is top tier. I had the black n Bleu burger cooked perfectly. My wife had the liver and onions and said it was a solid 10 / 10. My only complaint is not finding this place sooner. Great menu selection, portion sizes are large. My next trip there I will try their steak and seafood offerings. If you haven’t been here….GO!!

First time visiting The DeLand Stockyard after many recommendations. Walked in knowing it was a superb steakhouse and was surprised at the value of pricing and quantity you receive. Ordered the Stockyard Old Fashioned (Sliced Sirloin On Toast Points W/ Garlic Butter) which sounds delightful. What arrived was a perfectly cooked, sliced 10 oz steak over perfectly flavored, non soggy garlic bread with huge sweet potato fries lightly dusted with brown sugar and the cheesiest mac I’ve had at a restaurant. Paired with a delicious flatbread pepperoni pizza with onions which they perfectly sautéd. The portions were perfect for lunch and dinner and will happily cone again to enjoy more and more steak.

What can I say that over 2,000 previous reviews haven’t said already?

If you are looking to have a top tier meal/steak without going to Orlando they got you covered.

The Deland Stockyard offers a local, relaxed atmosphere with a live band, Reclaimed Wood, with outside covered bar and dining.

This is a great place to go for a special occasion or just because…..

It was an enjoyable surprise from beginning to end including the BEST fried mushrooms EVER, thanks to Sean’s recommendation.

We had the Ribeye Medium which was done to perfection.

What a pleasant surprise right in my backyard.

I’ve been a loyal regular at The Stockyard for quite a while now..easily three times a week..and it’s usually one of the highlights of my day. The food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and when Mary is behind the bar, the experience is top-tier. Mary is truly wonderful, attentive, friendly, and generous. She makes you feel seen the moment you walk in, and her drinks are always spot on.
That’s why this review is so disappointing to write.
Today, there was a different bartender working, and the experience couldn’t have been more different. My friend and I waited for about 15 minutes without so much as a greeting or acknowledgment
When I finally ordered a dirty martini (no vermouth), the glass came out only half full. When I asked about it, the bartender explained that since I didn’t want vermouth and the martini glasses are large, that’s why it wasn’t filled — and added that Mary is a “heavy pour” and he is not. I understand consistency and portion control, but serving a half-filled martini and essentially shrugging it off isn’t great service, especially after the long wait just to be acknowledged.
My friend even asked if there was anything they could do to make it right, and the response was simply no. At that point, we decided to leave.
I’m sharing this because I genuinely love this place. The food and overall vibe keep me coming back, and when the service is on point — especially with Mary — it’s fantastic. I just hope management takes note that hospitality and consistency matter. Regulars notice the difference.
