My boyfriend and I are currently hiking the American Discovery Trail, from Delaware to California. This trail system uses the Raccoon River Valley Trail that goes through Redfield. Luckily we were here when they were still open for the season as a fellow hiker had said that this place is an absolute must. So, we got out of the rain and took a short break, enjoying a chocolate cherry shake and waffle fries. The waffle fries were hot and fresh, they tasted delicious. And the shake was so thick you had to eat it with a spoon, and that is not a complaint! We liked the place’s style, with its vintage decor and oldies music.

This was a great place to stop for a snack at the 1/2 way point of my ride on the Racoon River Valley Trail. I had a very tasty raspberry banana shake. The ladies working there were very friendly. It’s just one of those pleasant small town burger and ice cream shops. I definitely want to go back and try the food.

Cute restaurant with excellent fast food and ice cream dishes. One of best taco salads I’ve ever had, brothers cheeseburger was delish and the fries and onion rings were very tasty. My turtle sundae was wonderful and my brothers malt was great. Definitely would stop by next time in area.

This was my first time at the Dairy Shoppe. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was fabulous! I’m a retired Chef from New Jersey. I’m so I like to eat at different place’s. Some hamburgers can be bland and just some ground beef cooked and put on a bun, however this burger had such a good flavor and was seasoned perfectly! The owner Linda was was very social and very sweet! Keep up the great work because I will definitely be going back. Thank you for a great food experience!

Great refreshment right off the bike trail on hot days. I had the mont shake, simple, sweet, and honestly delightful. I wouldn’t call it my favorite ice cream stop in Iowa or even on the trail system, but it is probably the best I’ve had in that area. I recommend this place to take a break if out biking, or if you’re just passing through. Great place.
