While traveling from New York to Rhode Island, we stopped at The Curry Queen for a quick lunch—and what an incredible find! The restaurant has ample parking and a charming, decorative interior that adds to the experience. We ordered Chicken Korma and ghee-topped wheat chapatis. The chapatis were soft and perfectly made, while the Chicken Korma was bursting with flavor. We asked for medium spice, and it was just right—rich, aromatic, and satisfying. A delightful stopover that we’ll definitely remember!

This is a hidden gem! We came in between lunch and dinner and had an amazing time. Our Shrimp Curry was spicy, creamy, savory and perfectly textured. Cauliflower, pees and potatoes were cooked on point l, rich in flavor, colors, and aromas. The server was very attentive, kind, and generous. Special thanks to the kitchen and Nalini

We came as a party of three on a Thursday night. We were sat at a comfortable booth. I appreciate the detailed descriptions for each dish. All the food was delicious, I especially enjoyed the lamb Rogan Josh. I asked for spicy, and was not disappointed. The garlic naan and ghee paratha went great with the curry. The owner was very nice and came out to check on us.

I want to start this review with a Thank you to our server Satish . He was so friendly, attentive and making sure if we needed something. He served us with a beautiful smile which matters more than food sometimes. When you are treated with so much positivity even of the food is not that good you are happy for the atmosphere. Food is ok . More like for white population around there. But overall we had a good experience.

Great food and great service; if you want good curry, come here. Drinks are also amazing. Unlike other restaurants in Old Saybrook, this place is worth coming back to.

A hidden gem. A truly delightful dining experience. I tried the Paneer Tikka Masala, Sambar, Naan and Kheer. I was also served papadum and chutneys (yum). While each dish was tasty and plentiful, the Sambar was just incredible – a thick stew, rich with vegetables, lentils and coconut. My server, Lohith, provided superb service – he was attentive, friendly and professional. He made a simple lunch feel like a special occasion. The host (owner?) was also warm, welcoming, and explained menu items. The atmosphere and decor were tasteful and inviting (fresh flowers on the tables). I look forward to returning.

It’s rare to find a place that offers an authentic experience these days—the flavors are rich, comforting, and clearly prepared with care and passion. Every bite of this food was cooked with absolute love! The Curry Queen has immediately made a regular out of me, and I truly couldn’t recommend them more.

We stopped here on a rainy morning and had Masala Chai and Veg Pakora! While this is a known best combo for rain, this restaurant had made it even better with their excellent preparation.
Masala Chai was made of full cream milk and spicy enough, served hot and was top notch! The pakora seemed fresh unlike a frozen one thawed per order.
Definitely planning to stop another time for lunch.
I would rate the atmosphere as lower because the lights were very dull and not appealing.

Visited Curry Queen during a family trip to CT. Had the best chicken biriyani and chicken 65. The food was really amazing, served hot with deep authentic flavor. Also tried their masala tea and mango lassi, both fresh and had that bold Indian flavor. Their customer service is really appreciable. Highly recommended.
